I entered the long aisle of shampoos and other care products, hoping to find a shampoo within my price range that would help my mane. I searched, pondered, and then I ran across the Garnier Fructis products. I had seen the commercials, so I figured I would give Garnier Fructis a try, as I hadn't tried Garnier Fructis shampoo before. Then it came down to selection time. I looked at all the various shampoos they offered and settled on Sleek & Shine. The Sleek & Shine bottle got me, the Sleek & Shine shampoo said it was for frizzy, dry, unmanageable hair. And the shampoo offered long-lasting frizz control. Sounded like a good fit to me.
With high hopes I purchased Garnier Fructis' Sleek & Shine shampoo. Eagerly I used it, hoping that this would be the product that would give me at least manageable hair, if not shampoo commercial hair. I lathered, rinsed and repeated. A necessary step when you have hair as thick as mine, and frankly it seems to allow the shampoo to work better. And the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine shampoo worked really well the first time, my hair was soft, smooth, and I must say I love the smell. Smell being highly important to me. I could wear my hair down with confidence, and it even survived my distracted pushing it back and playing with it.
Unfortunately, subsequent uses of it did not live up to the first time use. My hair was once again a disaster, although a nice smelling one. The Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine did not live up to its claim of long-lasting frizz control even from the start, but the Sleek & Shine almost made a believer out of me that first time. My hair was smoother and a bit less puffy (oh the joys of curls), but unfortunately even that effect vanished. The frizz returned with a vengeance, as if to mock me. To my shame, I even bought the rest of the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine system, thinking that perhaps shampoo marketing was accurate, and they really do work better together. Again, not the case.
While I would attempt another Garnier Fructis product, I would not purchase the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine shampoo again. I require more from my shampoo then a nice smell. I will continue my search for manageable hair.

Post a CommentGood review. Their conditioners have always made my hair feel a little weighed down. My hair is so long I sit on it, and it takes a loooooot of conditioner to get my brush through that mess.
