Product Review: GE DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Phone

Great Phone for the Electronics Home Consumer!

Summer Banks
Consumers are flooded with advertisements for electronic home equipment on a daily even hourly basis. You can buy cell phones that play music videos and video game systems that play movies. Amid all of the banter I have managed to find a truly impressive product for the home electronics consumer. The GE DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone is the last home phone you will ever need to buy.

The DECT in GE DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone stands for digital enhanced cordless telephone. The digital moniker is the key to the perfection of this phone. Having a digital phone means no more interference from other household electronic devices like wireless routers, wireless cards or cell phones. Many home electronic devices run on GHZ. This cordless phone runs on digital technology so the two can run side by side and all calls will be crisp and clear from "Hello" to "Bye, bye!".

The digital quality is not the only trick this phone has up its sleeve. The GE DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone is offered as a base set with accessory handsets. The base set is the only phone you will need to hook up to a telephone line. All the other handsets will only need an available outlet to function with the same quality as the base. This offers the home electronics consumer flexibility as well as function.

The GE DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone also offers integrated caller ID, speaker phone, volume control, music ringers, and a fifty (50) phone number memory just to name. Each of these functions works wonderfully and seamlessly on both the base and accessory handset.

The GE DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone also works well with nontraditional phone service such as phone service through your cable company. I have used this phone with my cable companies phone service for more than six (6) months now with no troubles or flaws.

The price of the GE DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone is a bit higher than traditional cordless phones. The base unit plus one additional accessory handset is available for right around $80.00. Each additional handset can be purchased for $40.00. You can add up to 4 additional handsets to the base phone.

As a home electronics consumer it is truly a wonderful thing to find a product that exceeds all of your expectations. The GE DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone does just that. The price is reasonable, the features plentiful and the function flawless. As a electronics home consumer I give the GE DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone five (5) out of five (5) stars.

Very interesting thread and I appreciate the reviews. I bought the (GE DECT 6.0)Model # 28112EE5 about a month ago from Best Buy. Got it home, set it up - I get a dial tone but no ring, and if you do leave it go, the answering machine wont pick up either -so basically it doesn't 'read' incoming calls. Returned it to store - a second model has the same problem. We are returning the 3rd one this week and will not exchange it a 4th time. Will go with Panasonic most likely - but certainly no more GE phones.

I didn't think a phone would require research. the same plug and unplug is happening with mine !! What a piece of crap !!!!

OMG! I have this phone and the same things are happening. We weren't sure if it was the cable line or the phones but, they won't ring half of the time yet, people can leave messages?! Doesn't make sense but, after reading all your complaints, I'm buying a new phone NOW! I just can't believe we ALL had the same or similar problems.

I am having the same problems with this phone%2C as are stated below%3B when trying to dial out it will sometimes give you the two beeps than go dead%2C other times it will say it is searching and nothing ever happens and than still other times it will sound like you are connected to a fax machine. Each time one of these problems occur you have to search the house for the other units and so far%2C there is always one phone that will work. And I to sometimes will not get a ring when there is an incoming call. Does anyone have any suggestions to fixing these problems%3F

I have the same phone with the same problems experienced below. My phone will look like it is connected, but it will give 2 short beeps when I push the talk button instead of connecting. "Simply" unplugging and replugging the base station restores operation. Multiple times per day. Unfortunately, you don't know when it will happen, often until either you try to make a call or your answering machine picks up without ever hearing the phone ring. Anyone have a # to call? Maybe the White House? (Couldn't resist, you know the GE-Obama ties). I'll never buy a GE product again.

I have this phone and it's an absolute pile of garbage. It never works: handsets don't know how to connect to the base-even when they're sitting on the base-dock, often no dial tone or it's searching..., the phones need to be unplugged and reset constantly to even work. Awful. Please avoid it whatever the price (discount) it's not worth it.

I hate to disagree with the I hate GE forum.%0D%0A%0D%0AI have serious conflict with GE and the Obama government in reference to conflict of interest matters.%0D%0A%0D%0A But I will say this phone is one of the best I have had the privilege to own. %0D%0A%0D%0AIt is crystal clear and all features work as described. %0D%0A%0D%0AA great price and maybe not an iPhone but I don%27t watch movies on my iPhone either.%0D%0A%0D%0A It is simply a great working and super static free phone. %0D%0A%0D%0AIf the phone you have is bad exchange it%2C return it%2C or replace it. %0D%0A%0D%0AI am special mine is the only one that works.%0D%0A

I wish I only had to unplug and reset mine once a day. I have to do it probably 10 or more times in one day. This is absolutely the worst investment I've ever made. What good with this stupid phone be in an emergency. Oops you're bleeding to death? Just one moment while I try and get a dial tone. Oh almost, nope now it's searching.
