Product Review: Gevalia Coffee

Rebecca Said
Gevalia Coffee is always running some great deals in order to get you to try their coffee. I think just about everyone living in the civilized world with access to the internet or printed material has come across their ads. What they want you to do is to sign up to get their coffee shipped to you on a regular basis, and in return they will give you a free coffeemaker. The free coffeemakers they send are really nice. I got a large well-built stainless steel model with a bunch of features. Sometimes the offer will change slightly and they will offer different freebies as well.

I joined a few years ago just to try it out and of course to get my free coffeemaker. It turns out that their coffee is really very good, and worth the prices they charge. Another thing I like about Gevalia is that they are flexible. You decide what kind and amount of coffee you want, and it is automatically sent to you each month. This company has been very trouble free, my shipments are always on time and I have never had any billing problems.

I am not very adventurous when it comes to coffee. But I received another ad from them offering a regular shipment of limited edition coffees from around the world and decided that sounded kind of interesting. I was surprised that they wanted to send me an additional coffeemaker when I signed up for that as well. It is nice to know they want to continue giving you free stuff even after you have become a satisfied customer. This time I got a fancy two-cup coffeemaker, and I love it. I signed up for that shipment over the phone and the customer service agent was extremely friendly and helpful. Up to that point, I would mostly just drink French Roast because I like the dark richness. But with the extra shipments I have tried a variety of coffee and have found my favorite coffee is actually Harrar from Ethiopia.

Every time I get a shipment of coffee from them, they always enclose a catalog of all the products they offer. Gevalia offers a very enticing assortment of baked goods. Some I have tried is the baklava, biscotti and Jordanian sweets. Last Christmas, I sent everyone on my list goodies from the Gevalia catalog. I was really happy with my order because my family and friends loved their gifts and were impressed by the high quality of the ingredients. I would highly recommend Gevalia to everyone!

Has anyone tried Camano Island Coffee Roasters? They are kind of the 'local' company I heard is similar but does not have the marketing strength Gevalia has...

http://www.camanoislandcoffee.com sounds intriguing. If anybody has experience with them please let me know...

They suck in every respect. Their billing is really really bad, worse than their Customer Service. No point in even trying them.

Thanks for this review. I have been trying to decide if getting this deal is worth it. Seems like it is!

I've always wondered about their coffee, and after reading this I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for providing this great review!
