Ghiradelli's chocolate squares are elegantly packaged and filled with individually wrapped squares of chocolates. Indeed they are pretty enough to use as hostess gifts or as a small thank-you present to a friend or colleague. The dark chocolate raspberry bag is a pretty pink and silver design. Each bag weighs 5.32 ounces (151 grams). A serving size is 3 squares and there are approximately 3 servings per bag. A serving contains 210 calories, 12 grams of fat, 6 grams of saturated fat, 1 gram of trans fat, 0 mg of Cholesterol, 0 mg of Sodium, 29 grams of carbohydrates, 24 grams of sugars, 2 grams of Protein, 2% of the RDA of Calcium, 4% of the RDA of Vitamin C, and 10% of the RDA of Iron.
Although the nutritional profile shows that there is a small amount of trans fat it doesn't concern me. I've written about it before, but I don't believe that a gram or two of trans fat every once in a blue moon is going to kill me. When I'm eating chocolate I'm not necessarily concerned with its nutrition but more with its quality, taste and texture. After all, I only eat a small amount when I indulge so I think it's important for it to be the good stuff.
These dark chocolate raspberry squares are sublimely decadent and delicious. The raspberry filling is sweet, creamy and fruity and marries perfectly with the meltingly dense, almost bitter dark chocolate. There is just enough filling to enhance the chocolate and neither flavor overwhelms the other. Chocolate and fruit are one of the marriages made in heaven and these chocolates exemplify their perfect union.
Ghiradelli Chocolate Squares come in several different and delicious flavors. They include: Milk Chocolate with Caramel, 60% Cacao Dark Chocolate, 60% Dark Chocolate with Caramel, Dark Chocolate with Mint Filling, Milk Chocolate with Caramelized Almonds, and Milk Chocolate. Ghiradelli has a flavor for every palate and is a quality brand of chocolate that I would recommend to every chocolate lover.
