Product Review: Glamour Goddess Complete Manicure Set

Beckie Yoon
I love perfectly manicured nails, because they represent someone who tries hard to care for their own health and being. Thus, when I saw the Glamour Goddess Complete Manicure Set in such a cute packaging, I couldn't help myself but purchase it. A base coat, French pink nail polish, French white nail polish, top coat, nail whitener pencil, nail stencils, toe divider, and a buffer comes in a cute pink package.

First off, the base coat and the top coat work very well. They help protect your nails, and the top coat works well in giving it a shine, and sealing the nail polish off. I simply adore those two. The French White Nail polish is basically just a white color while the French pink nail polish doesn't show at all. In fact, after applying it, you really can't tell the different in your nails although you would think that it's a pretty pink color. The buffer works relatively well in shining up your nails, and the nail whitener pencil isn't too bad.

Personally, I would just purchase nail polish instead of this kit although it offers a complete nail set because it seems to me like the nail polishes, base coat, and top coat aren't that good of a quality. They work well, but I would rather invest the money on some other nail polish. Also, I do not like the color of the nail polish that well. While French White Nail Polish is not too bad, and actually looks rather cute, the French Pink Nail Polish really doesn't do anything at all. I applied layers of this product, and it didn't really seem to make too big of a difference. In fact, from far off, you probably wouldn't even know that I had nail polish on!

The Nail Polish doesn't chip too easily; however, it's not easy to apply them because they do not seem to stick onto the nails very well. I had to apply numerous coats of nail polish in order to get a decent effect. This really seems to be a waste of time especially when you have to apply a layer of base coat, 5 layers of French White Nail Polish, and then another 5 layers of top coat. It's not healthy for your nails at all. Also, it seemed like they would not want to go through to all of your nails so that the edges would not have nail polish on. It took a lot of effort. The brush on the nail polish isn't that good of a quality, and would not apply the nail polish evenly.

After about 4 days or so, some of the nail polish would start chipping off at the edges. The thing about this nail polish is that it all seems to clump together, and would peel off as a whole instead of sticking onto your nails. This caused the chipping to be even more intense than before. Other than that, it was actually pretty good, and after a while, it seems like the color of the nail polish isn't too bad.

I would recommend you to purchase or invest in some other nail polishes instead of this kit; however, I do have it handy nearby just in case I need a touch up. It's not that bad of a kit for the money that you pay for it, and I will finish using this kit; however, I'm not quite sure whether or not I'd be willing to invest more money to repurchase this kit when I am finished using it.
