The individual crackers reminded me of Ritz's crackers in looks, except Glutino's Multigrain Gluten Free Crackers are thicker. The cracker itself has a wonderful texture and when you take a bite it acts like a normal cracker. In order words it didn't crumble into a million pieces and scatter crumbs all over creation. That is a big step in the right direction; it is the first gluten free cracker I have tried that held together after I took a bite.
Glutino's Multigrain Gluten Free Crackers tasted wonderful to me. I had to keep myself in strict control to keep from eating most of them in one sitting. The crackers are loose in two separate foil wrappers, which was a little strange. Why not one bag? Better yet why not stack them in a roll and wrap them that way? It seems there would be less likelihood of the cracker being broken if it was in a roll. The only reason I could think of, is that Glutino is trying to disguise the fact that there just aren't that many crackers in a 4.4 oz box.
I'm not sure why Glutino calls this cracker multigrain because the only grain I see listed in the ingredients is white rice flour. It should be called Fennel crackers because they were heavy handed with the fennel. If you don't like the taste of fennel you will find the taste of these crackers disturbing. Personally, I love fennel so I was okay with it, but I do think they could cut down on the amount. A little goes a long way when it comes to fennel.
There are three other flavors: original, vegetable and cheddar. I'm going to try to convince my local grocery store to stock the original flavor and/or the cheddar flavor of Glutino's Gluten Free Crackers.
Bottom line: These are excellent gluten free crackers, if you like the taste of fennel.
