Product Review: Gold Bond Antibiotic Ointment Plus Pain Reliever

Garnet Miller
All scrapes and burns are accompanied by pain. It used to be that an ointment of some kind was applied to the area and then a pain medication was given by mouth for comfort. Now, that pain medication is not necessary with Gold Bond Antibiotic Ointment plus Pain Reliever.

My son has taken up skateboarding. As a general rule, he is careful. But, when he's clowning around with his friends, accidents can happen. When he tried a new skateboarding trick one Saturday, his board slipped from underneath him and he rolled down the driveway. Of course, he didn't tell me about the injury that he zuztained until the next evening when his arm was stiff and sore. His shoulder hit the pavement and he developed a really nasty scrape.

I keep other antibiotic ointments on hand, but this time I reached for the Gold Bond Antibiotic Ointment plus Pain Reliever. Gold Bond has a reputation for producing excellent health products. The area around the scrape was still tender. I took two cotton swabs and cleaned the scrape with soap and warm water. I swabbed some alcohol on the scrape to further clean the area. Then, I applied a dime-sized amount of the Gold Bond Antibiotic Ointment to his shoulder. The ointment spread easily over the wound. It didn't even need a bandage. As with all ointments, my son had to sleep without a shirt for a night to keep the ointment from smearing. The next morning, my son was up and running, ready to try some more skateboarding tricks. The injury was still there, but the pain was not.

Gold Bond Antibiotic Ointment is safe and odorless. Children as young as two years old can use this product. Gold Bond Antibiotic Ointment contains a triple antibiotic formula (Bacitracin 500U, Neomycin 3.5mg, and Polymyxin B Sulfate 10,000U) with Pramoxine hydrochloride 10mg for pain relief and itch control. Use Gold Bond one to three times a day as needed.

If your burn is more severe or you have sustained a deep cut, do not use Gold Bond Antibiotic Ointment plus Pain Reliever. Ointments of this type are not recommended for open wounds or burns needing professional medical attention. Gold Bond is a medication and should be taken as directed.

I am pleased with the performance of Gold Bond Antibiotic Ointment plus Pain Reliever. If it can keep my son from complaining about an injury, it can do the same for you and your family. The ointment is available wherever Gold Bond products are sold.
