When I saw the price of the Good Cook Can Opener, I was very skeptical. The retail price was under $5. That is a great price for a new manual can opener. Usually when the price is so cheap, the quality is cheap. However, in this case, the store is so close to my home that if I needed to return the item, I could without causing any hardship. I will not have to return this can opener.
Upon getting home, I found the manual can opener to be a fantastic deal. Here are some of the reasons why this can opener is well worth it:
Packaging. The packaging is very simple and plain. There is nothing spectacular nor fancy to add to the price. Colorful pictures are used, if needed. The can opener was securely attached to the cardboard display card.
Ease of use. It is very easy to use. There is no struggling to rotate the blade at all. The entire process is effortless.
Grip. It has a well-sized hand grip that is easy to hold on to. There is a special coating on the grip portion that allows for extra It presents no manual dexterity problems.
Blade. The blade is sharp and punctures cans easily. Do not laugh. Some can openers are not like that.
Price. As mentioned, the price is unbeatable for the quality. All products I saw that were made by Good Cook were very reasonably priced. The can opener is no different.
Guarantee. There is a Guarantee of Satisfaction. If I am unsatisfied, for whatever reason, with the can opener, I can return it for a replacement.
I did some research on Good Cook ® to satisfy my curiousity as to how they could charge so little for such a quality product. It turns out that this company offers a variety of kitchen items ranging from cookware, bakeware, kitchen utensils, to food storage items - among others. In fact, they hold the largest share of the market for kitchen items sold in drug and grocery stores.
The only drawback to this item is the fact it is imported from China. That, however, explains the low cost.
All in all, my product review of the Good Cook® Can Opener is a thumbs up.

I Spent 12.00 at grocery chain store. It looked sturdier than other lighter cheaper brands with firm twisting handle. It just does not cut the lid... even the 1st two cans... Total Waste and wife was not pleased I through out old barely working cheapo
This can open DOES NOT work. Like the person below. It worked a couple times...
It is so frustrating , when you buy something and it does not work. It just does not. How can a company make a can open that doesn't work. Because we don't keep the reciept and then we just throw it away.
I am on my second Good Cook manual can opener. The opener seems to be wonderful for about a month and then it will not slice completely into the lid of a can. I am very disappointed as the second one I have now doesn't work either. I will never buy this item again.
