Product Review: Goody Ouchless Detangling Comb

Are These Styling Tools Really Ouchless, or is it Just Another Bit of Marketing Hype?

Mavyn McDaniels
The Goody Ouchless Collection is a collection of styling tools and accessories designed for pain-free, easy styling. I have the Goody Ouchless Paddle Brush and the Goody Ouchless Detangling Comb, but they also have round brushes, vent brushes and a variety of other styling tools in this line.

To help you better determine how well the Goody Ouchless Collection will work for you, here is the lowdown on my hair. It is long and thick and, depending on the day, it is somewhere between wavy and curly. I've been dyeing it for years, so while it looks and feels healthy, you know there is at least a bit of damage to contend with that can make brushing and combing a more arduous task.

Goody Ouchless Detangling Comb Review: General Use

The wide teeth and sleek design of this detangling comb make it an absolute dream for post-shower combing of wet hair. I have been using this comb after my showers for about two months now and it gets every tangle out without a single snag.

I don't use the comb on my hair when it's dry - I use the Goody Ouchless Paddle Brush instead - but it seems like it would also work great on dry hair as well. The wide teeth should allow you to detangle your dry hair almost as easily as when it's wet.

As for styling, if you are simply combing through product and leaving your hair down, then the Goody Ouchless Detangling Comb will work fine. However, the teeth are too wide apart for precision styling. Of course, the comb is specifically designed for detangling, not styling, so as long as you stay within its job description, this comb works wonders.

This comb has a permanent place in my after show routine and is now the only comb I use for detangling my hair. It is so completely ouchless that my boyfriend can comb my hair with it and I never have to worry about him pulling too hard or getting caught on a tangle and trying to yank it out.

Goody Ouchless Detangling Comb Review: Overall Review

If you have medium to long hair or any kind of curl, go out and get this comb. It's inexpensive and easy to find (you can get it at your local Walgreens or other drugstore). You will love how easily it slides through your hair and leaves your locks completely tangle-free. Even your kids will love it, so you really can't go wrong.
