We got the Graco Meal Time highchair as soon as he was able to sit up without pitching forward. And, since then use it constantly. We looked at a lot of different types and styles of highchairs before we chose this one.
At first, I wanted the Space Saver highchair that attaches to an ordinary dining room chair. Boy am I glad we didn't go that route. The wheels on the Graco highchair is probably my favorite feature, don't worry each wheel has a lock too. The chair normally parks next to the dining room table, but when I am cooking, I wheel my son into the kitchen to "help". My husband takes him out to the living room, so that he can watch TV while he feeds our little man, bad habit I know. And, we are looking forward to being able to bring him out on the back patio for BBQ season.
Another great feature of the Graco Meal Time highchair is all of the ways that you can adjust it, assuring that you will only have to buy one highchair for your baby. There are four different height adjustments, making it easy to feed baby no matter where you are sitting. The seat reclines back into three different positions. We used this when my son was first learning to eat from a spoon. We tipped the seat back a little to help the food stay in his mouth, while he learned to "chew" and swallow. Now, that he is a pro, he sits straight up.
Our second favorite feature is how well this highchair folds up to take along. I can't count the number of times we have thrown the highchair in the back of the Jeep and taken it to family get-togethers.
And, don't worry about clean up, it's a breeze with tray insert that fits snugly onto the tray and snaps off easily for a trip through the dishwasher or just to your kitchen sink. The seat cover is vinyl, which can be wiped down or taken off for a quick spin through the wash machine.
I know my husband and I would be lost without our Graco Meal Time highchair. With all the highchairs out there this one has proved to be safe, fun, easy to clean and versatile. Not to mention, our $80 price tag was a great investment. We found ours at our local Wal-Mart. There are lots of other styles available and the prices range up to $90.
This highchair gets to baby thumbs WAY UP!!!
