Consider the information below to decide if you want to put them to the test.
The Product Information:
Great Value Frozen Buttermilk Biscuits are another one of the Wal-mart brand food products. The biscuits are only one of several brands that are available at Wal-mart. I originally did some nutrition and cost comparisons by examining the labels on the different brands available at my Neighborhood Wal-mart. You may want to do the same at your local Wal-mart because the brands carried in your part of the country may be different than the ones carried in my part of the country.
According to the Great Value Frozen Buttermilk Biscuit package, one of the 62-gram biscuits is considered a serving. The package contains 20 biscuits. Each biscuit contains 5 grams of fat, with 3 grams being saturated fat. There is no trans fat in the product. In comparing the other brands available in my area, I have found that comparable biscuits vary between 57-62 grams each in size and contain up to 10 grams of fat each. I made the decision to try Great Value Frozen Buttermilk Biscuits because the fat content was lower than the fat content in the other brands I compared to them. The price was also lower. The cost of the package of 20 biscuits at my Neighborhood Wal-mart is $3.08.
The Recommendation:
My family was pleasantly surprised at the taste and quality. It only takes a few minutes to bake them and with winter coming and no worries about the oven competing with my air conditioner, I plan on cooking them more often. The biscuits brown very evenly and the center stays moist and tender. It is a rare occasion at our house when we get to have biscuits for breakfast. Usually my husband is in a hurry to get to work and has no time for a "cooked" breakfast. That is reason enough for us to occasionally have breakfast at the evening meal. We also enjoy eating biscuits with roast. Whether you butter them and eat them with your favorite jelly or jam or eat them with your favorite meat and gravy, they are delicious. They may not taste exactly like the ones your Momma used to make, but they are a great tasting substitute and take a lot less time. And the more time you save, the more time you can write, read or pursue whatever your passion may be!

Post a CommentOnce again-the review is about FROZEN biscuits-NOT the canned ones

This morning I open a can of Great Value Buttermilk biscuits and coating them with butter, notice a
hard spot on one of the biscuits, then on another one and another also, upon closer inspection, found what appeared to be small particles of glass in them. Upon closer inspection, believe it is some kind of plastic, in any case not what you would want to serve to your family.
Here is the bar code on the container 6 05388 18798

I have just seen the latest comment below & had missed the last several comments that state the same thing-about glass in the canned biscuits. My review is NOT about canned biscuits. The review is about FROZEN biscuits that come in a bag-no relation to the ones in the cans that some have found glass in. ElenaH-the writer of the review
I recently had two cans left out of many my father in law had ate several cans prior to me fixing some. I went to make a can felt something hard in them and looked and there was shattered glass all in them. Thought it was weird opened the other cdan i had left and it was the same way full of shattered glass. Alot of things are easily looked over but glass in your packaged food is really unacceptable. My concern is how many cans my father in law ate without looking. Better have good lawyers...
I, too, have found what looks and feels like glass in the great value canned home style and the buttermilk biscuits. What's the deal, this is very dangerous. I'll be taking them back tomorrow. Has anyone heard from Walmart regarding this?
I have found glass or plastic in these biscuits also. I returned them to wal-mart and was given a refund. Just this morning again I opened a can of biscuits and found more glass/plastic. Not good. I should have learned the first time. I will not buy these again.
Hi, I'll have to try these. My husband is a southerner, and biscuits are a main food group for him, sometimes I don't have the time to make from scratch. Thanks!
To Ashley B.-this could potentially happen with any brand. I have been very successful when I have an issue with a product and called the 800# usually listed on the product. They may replace them or send you a refund.
I went to go bake My Butter milk Great value Biscuits and Noticed a Piece of Melted plastic or piece of glass in one of the indivisioul biscuit!!!! What if i didnt notice it and had given it to my 19month old son????? Not good not good!!!
Re: Question from Your Name-Great Value is a Walmart Brand-you can only buy them at a Walmart store.
