Product Review: Hallmark Sound Cards

Emma
I recently stopped into my local Hallmark store to pick up a birthday card for my dad. I had seen the commercials for the new cards that play songs when you open them but I had not yet gone to the store to see them. After looking through just about all of them I found the perfect one for my dad and think it's going to be a great one for him.

Just about every type of song you can think of, they have. They have ones to suit mom's, dad's, sister's, everyone. They make ones with songs in them and with movie and TV show clips. They even make cards with jingles and sports references. We joke around with my dad because he's a bit sensitive. The card I bought for him plays "Macho Man" which will get a good laugh out of he and my mom.

If you're looking for a serious card, they'll have it. If you're looking for a funny card, they'll have it. They have oldies songs and new songs for you to choose from. Hallmark really does have a pretty good selection to chose from for the loved ones in your life. The art work on the cards is very attractive too and goes along with the sound you choose. For my dad's card, it has a picture of a skinny guy flexing his muscles.

There aren't only cards for birthdays. Hallmark makes them for wedding congratulations, birth congratulations as well as many other special occasions. If you visit Hallmark's website you can e-mail a sound card to a friend. It's a great alternative when money's a bit tight.

The price tag isn't too bad on these new cards. The three that I bought were all $4.99 plus tax. A regular card with music can run you up to $4. I think these cards are a great deal for the money. Right now, until October 1, 2007, Hallmark is running a promotion with the sound cards. You get a free download from iTunes with every card you buy. If you have an iPod, like many people do, this is a great deal to participate in.

I love these cards and think they're a great addition to the Hallmark line of cards. The price is very reasonable and they have a great selection to choose from. It easy to find the occasion you need and a song to suit that person too. I definitely recommend picking out a few and sending them to your loved ones.

Glad you had success. My sister sent them ($5 each) and they did not work. No damage in mailing but apparently fragile. V-E-R-Y costly for a paper card, extra postage, no sound.
