Product Review: Hanns-G HW191D LCD Monitor

I had been in the market for a new computer monitor. I had to choose between a standard CRT monitor and a sleek, LCD monitor. After searching many stores and websites, I finally decided I would go with a LCD, flat panel monitor. I was going to wait to buy one of the more well-known brands, but my husband decided I could not wait any longer and bought the Hanns-G HW191D 19 inch LCD monitor.

The Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor was the answer to my dreams. It features a 19 inch widescreen monitor and it fits nicely on my desk, giving me more room to work. Its black casing adds to the atmosphere and gives the monitor a nice trendy look, while giving me optimal performance.

The Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor has some nice features. There are speakers attached directly to the monitor in a discreet fashion. The speakers on the Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor are located on the rear side of the monitor so there is not too much space being taken up, since the monitor is so wide. The Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor has volume control, auto adjustment, power, and screen setup buttons located on the right side of the monitor, making it easier to adjust and prevent accidentally adjustments from occurring.

The Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor offers two types of connections for connecting to your video graphics card. There is the traditional VGA port, which most computers have, and a DVI port. Connecting to the DVI port is optional, as many computers do not have both types of ports installed on their video graphics card. The Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor has an audio port so the monitor's speakers can be easily hooked up to the computer. Of course, you do not have to use the speakers on the monitor, as this is only an optional requirement.

The Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor offers great clarity when it comes to viewing items on screen. Because of the flat screen technology, the Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor allows pictures and websites to be viewed in an amazing fashion. When I first plugged in the Hanns-G HW191D LCD to my computer, I instantly realized how much of a difference the LCD monitor made compared to a typical CRT monitor.

The Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor is perfect for environmentally cautious individuals. The Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor has the energy symbol and uses the least amount of energy required to power up and run the monitor. This is an added bonus to this great product. It will save money and electricity, while producing an optimal level of performance.

There is only one thing I would change about the Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor. This LCD monitor, while performing excellent, does not have the ability to rotate or adjust my view of the screen. I used to enjoy rotating my old CRT monitor around so I could have the best view, but the Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor does not allow me to do so. Instead of being able to tilt the monitor to a position which best suits me, I have to turn the base. While this is a minor disappointment, I could not be happier with my choice of monitors.

The Hanns-G HW191D LCD monitor is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a new monitor. It is a little pricey, costing $218, but it is well worth the price. I rate this product a 9.

Ok, let me rephrase... 6 months ago my HW191D Hanns-G LCD screen switched itself on without it being plugged to a computer. Strange orange objects appeared throughout the screen. Is this a fault with the monitor? Because I sure as hell can't explain it.

Well, this is the problem. I purchased the HW191D LCD screen a couple of years ago and about 6 month's pixelated orange character faces started appearing randomly on the screen without it being plugged to a computer and only the power switched on. I believe there is an error in the microchips in the computer that ensued such a scenario. That is right... The monitor became alive for no reason when not plugged to the computer. Has anyone experienced this too?

Nice hubby. Mine keeps teeling me to splurge and buy one. But I keep waiting. When I do decide, I'll check out this model first.

I'd love to get one of these. My big old box is over 7 years old and so heavy, I can barely move it. Great article.

Great review. After being on my laptop with the LCD, there is no way I would do CRT again.
