Hard as Hoof is a very pleasant smelling moisturizing cream for the nails. Massaging the cream into the nails is a pleasant contrast to the smelly nail polish I formerly applied. The directions say to apply the cream to the nail bed, cuticle and underside of the nails three times daily or as often as necessary, and the product can also be applied over nail polish.
After using this product for only two weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in the strength of my nails. My nails no longer split and nail breakage has also been very minimal during that time period. I use the product at least three times per day, more often if I have my hands in water, which tends to dry out my nails. Hard as Hoof is an excellent moisturizer for dry, brittle nails. I have not returned to the use of nail polish and polish remover, which always seemed to dry out my nails and increased the splitting. I plan to continue using Hard as Hoof and anticipate having some beautiful and strong nails as my former weakened, fragile nails continue to grow out.
Drug Store News also has information on Hard as Hoofs and they highly recommend the product as well. It seems I am not the only person who found great results with Hard as Hoofs.
Hard as Hoofs is manufactured by Onyx Laboratories in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Ingredients listed on the jar: Aqua, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, Glycerin. Glyceryl Stearate, Beeswax, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Calcium Pantothenate, Allantoin, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Ascorbic Acid, Ergocolciferol, Retinol, Parfum, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben.
The cost of Hard as Hoofs is comparable to a bottle of nail polish and can be purchased at any drugstore chain and most discount stores, such as Walmart. The one ounce jar will last at least 2 months because such a small amount of product is used for each treatment.

Post a CommentI found it at Walgreen's, and bought it. It's a great product!
thank you for your review, I recently bought the product and wanted some type of evidence that it does work. I stopped biting my nails and for about 5 months now I have been growing them out. of course they have cracked and split because they were brittle but now they are strong and i wanted them to grow stronger
If you can't find the product at your local Walmart or CVS, I would suggest talking to management to see if they would reconsider stocking this product. Thanks for reading and for posting your comments on Hard as Hoof Nail Strengthener!
Most Walmarts no longer carry "Hard as Hoff " Cuticle cream. Can you please list other chains.I have been a user for years now and have recommended it often to friends and family.
I have been using Sally Hansen Advanced Hard as Nails Strengthening Nail Creme with Shea Butter for a couple of years and I love it, I already have strong nails and this increases the strength and growth, but I can not find it anymore(walgreen or cvs) so maybe I will try the Hard as Hoof Nail Strengthening. Thanks for the info. I am a manicurist so I love strong beautiful natural nails.
I am concerned about the paraben used in the product:methyl paraben & propyl paraben. Why is it necessary to have this ingredient? This is not good for the user nor for the environment.
I started using it and LOVED the product, then...I looked the ingredients.
I've used an entire jar of this stuff and got absolutely zero results. There is no hydration property in it, which is what really improves your nails, hands and cuticles. So I switched to Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream 16 oz jar, which can be found anywhere, and has made a remarkable improvement in my hands and nails in less than one week. It's a true hydrating cream--use it at bedtime and see the real difference.
I have used Hard as Hoof for years and now my store isn't carrying it any longer. Can it be found at CVS, WAlgreen, Walmart????
Julia Williams the name is one of the reasons why I picked Hard as Hoof! I love horses and I thought "If this cream can make my nails as hard and durable as horse hooves I definitely want it!" I just got a jar of Hard as Hoof today and I already love it! Right after I massaged it into all my nails I could tell that they were moisturized and toughened. My nails tend to be too soft, flexible, and full of water but Hard as Hoof strengthened them. I love the smell, too!
I bought a bottle of Hard as Hoofs.(repairs soft, thin nails)It's in polish form.you apply it 2-3 times daily and it worked great.(much better and faster than the cream.does anyone know where i can still get it??
