After co-washing my hair I applied the Olive Crème. It did not have a thick or thin consistency, and it smelled like hair grease. I twisted my hair in large two-strand twists, wrapped my hair with a silk scarf and went to bed.
The next morning when I woke up I got mixed results. I noticed that while applying the Olive Crème some areas of my hair air dried. The patches of hair that were damp when I applied the product the product were still moist. My hair was softer, shinier, straighter and less frizzy. Yet, the patches of hair that air dried before I applied Olive Crème were now dry, hard and very fuzzy. I was afraid to touch the hair in case it would break off. I damped those patches and reapplied the product. The problem was fixed.
This product is not good for certain curly styles. I wear my hair in two strand twists all over. This product softened my hair so much that the twists would slip apart. Usually my twists curl at the ends, but they remained flat and lifeless because this product weighed down my curls making my hair much straighter. This product should be applied lightly. On the areas where I applied too much of it my hair felt slightly crunchy.
Attached to the Olive Crème is a free deep conditioning treatment that I decided to throw out since its ingredients were so harsh. It had silicones and petrolatum. Not all of Hollywood Beauty products are silicone-free or petrolatum-free.
Two days after applying the Olive Crème my hair is still shiny and soft. I have not had much breakage while the product was on my hair. It seems much healthier.
Would I buy it again? I love styling twists too much, so my answer is "no." I would definitely recommend it to a friend that is transitioning her hair from relaxed to natural. It would make their roots softer and straighter, so the transition might be easier.
This will not become a staple in my hair care regimen. Unlike with other products that I won't be buying again I do not feel cheated out of my money. This product was not bad, it was just not great for where I want my hair to be right now and that is curly.

Post a Commentthat is true, i never thought of that.
lol @ me applying this on a wet afro and going to bed...i did the twists to keep it from tangling. i might try this product again on my hair without twisting it. we have different hair types. i am either 4a/4b or 3c/4a...or both :/
Nice review!
However, if you want your hair to be "curly" shouldn't you have tried the product on without braiding/twisting your hair to see how it performs on your natural curls?
I'm a 3b/c and I've been eyeballing this product for ages but can't seem to find enough reviews for natural curls.
