The vacuum weighs 17 pounds which is heavier than many of the newer vacuums out there but is still completely useable. An older person may have difficulty pushing it around, but it should be fine for most people. It has a 12-amp motor which propels it along the floor so there is little you need to do. This motor is also strong enough to provide good enough suction that I only need to go over each part of the floor once. This saves quite a bit of time when vacuuming a whole room.
I really like the allergen filtration system built into the vacuum. It's designed to catch dust mites, ragweed, and pollens. I fell I can breathe better in my apartment after I use this vacuum, especially during pollen season. My old one seemed to just stir everything up instead of getting rid of it.
The Tempo comes with a set of hand tools so you can clean in smaller places. It has everything you need with a dusting brush, furniture nozzle, crevice tool, and two extension wands. I cleaned my curtains and furniture with the attachments right after I got the vacuum and found that they were easy to switch on and off and convenient to use since they were stored right on the vacuum. You will never have to go searching in the closet when you want to use them.
Since it is made by Hoover, it is easy to get replacement bags and belts just about anywhere.
My biggest complaint about the product is that it does not work well on hard floors but most upright vacuums do not. It would be nice to be able to vacuum up the crumbs in the kitchen quickly with this but it just spreads them around. Also, its cord is rather short so you will be plugging and unplugging it all the time to reach your whole house. Overall, for the price, I am very pleased with my purchase.
