April Horton
This is a great remedy for the upcoming cold season. It is very useful in treating coughs, colds, bronchitis and other respiratory ailments. It provides excellent respiratory and lung support.

It is especially useful in loosening up dry coughs that cause that tight feeling in the chest and can make breathing difficult. Horehound opens up the respiratory track to aide in easier breathing. This is especially useful at night time when it can be hard to sleep.

I have found that elevating my kids a little bit in bed can help a lot in terms of comfort.

The remedy itself has a warming calming effect and is anti spasmodic in nature. This is a great remedy for kids as it is super gentle as well as very effective in treating everyday coughs and colds without traditional medicines which might make a child drowsy.

The ingredients of this tincture are; extract of mullein leaf, astragulus root, horehound herb, garden sage, orange peel, Oregon grape root and ginger root. It also contains Kosher coconut oil/palm kernel oil, glycerin, purified water and citric acid. This remedy is kosher and is made with certified organic and ethically wild crafted herbs. It is very high quality and pretty much the only horehound remedy especially geared towards kids on the market.

The actions and indications of the herbs this remedy contains are as follows;

Horehound- Horehound is an expectorant and antispasmodic. This is the main ingredient in this remedy because horehound soothes the respiratory tract and is good for all respiratory ailments.

Garden Sage- Sage is best known for it's decongestant qualities in treating the common cold and respiratory ailments.

A one ounce bottle of the Herbs for Kids horehound blend will run you around $6. It comes in a one ounce bottle with a dropper for easy administration to your little ones. You can find this remedy in most major health food stores and some major drugstores. You can also order it online.

This is one remedy I keep stocked in our medicine cabinet. I haven't had to use it very often thankfully. But when I have it has worked really well for my children. Especially in loosening a deep, tight, dry cough. It helps provide much relief during uncomfortable cold's and respiratory upsets.

This herbal remedy is not only good for the everyday common cold but asthma, bronchitis, whooping cough and croup. Get yourself a bottle to keep on hand this upcoming cold season, you won't be sorry and you will see first hand how well this remedy works. It is great for kids and adults!

If your child won't take this remedy straight from the bottle you can add it to an ounce or so of juice. I find the darker red and purple juices work best for hiding the medicine taste for little ones!

Herbs for Kids remedies are alcohol free and are free of any synthetic or artificial ingredients or fillers. It is a nice gentle alternative to over the counter cold medications. Using tinctures is cost effective as you only need a little bit at a time and the shelf life is usually at least 2 years or more.
