Since it was still winter and I have a combination skin, the most logical choice was imperialis. I liked the idea of balancing the skin. It is supposed to control oil on oily parts and add moisture on dry parts.
What I really liked about this was that it did the job as a moisturizer. It took care of my dry places really well. After a couple of uses, most of my dry spots were gone, and it didn't cause any breakouts so I was very impressed. It didn't do anything for my oily parts even though it says that it will solve the t-zone problem. And it did leave my skin a little oily by the midday, sometimes earlier than that. This moisturizer contains a lot of oils so it really knows how to moisturize. Also, it's impressive that it can do all the moisturizing without causing any major breakouts. The best part definitely is that this will make your face comfortable.
I really have to comment on the scent though. It's just very odd. I didn't find the smell offensive and grew to like it, but it was really bothersome when I first started using this. Really, if you care about the smell at all, you will not pick this moisturizer out of the other moisturizers at Lush. Lush has some wonderful and unique smelling products, and imperialis may be unique, but I would never describe this kind of smell as pleasant.
So, as a moisturizer, imperialis just does its job really well. It says clearly that moisturizing is the only thing that it does, so if you are looking for something that does more, this isn't the one for you. But, if you want something that moisturizes really well, have kind of a dry skin, don't mind the oiliness and the odd smell, this will be a good one for you. Lush upped the prices a little bit to about $21 for 1.5 oz, so this isn't very cheap, but it's not that expensive seeing as this will last a few months- one jar lasted me about 3months.
