First, the pizza pretzels. On QVC, Kim and Scott's pretzels are shown in the cooking demonstration as being very stuffed, when in actuality they are not. Also, the taste is reminded me more of a cheese pizza from Hot Pockets rather than a fancy pretzel. The outside of all cheese-related pretzels are covered in cheese, and while this is good, by the time the center is cooked long enough to melt, the cheese on the outside of the pretzel become burnt. My husband tried this pizza pretzel as well, and we decided that for the price, the product was not worth it.
Now for the Kim and Scott's Gourmet Cheddar Cheese Pretzel, this one was somewhat better but still burned on the outside. Also, I made the mistake of trying it while I could still "pick off" the cheese on the outside of the pretzel. I made a big mistake because the "Cheeze-Whiz type" of filling had not melted yet. It was cold and because the pretzel has to be pulled apart, had I stuck it back in the over in pieces, the cheese would have melted outside of the pretzel. I will say, that Publix does tend to put these on sale every once in a while for $4 for a box of four. While $1 each does sound reasonable, a grilled cheese sandwich taste more authentic. I also know that Kim and Scott's makes a plain variety, so I would like to try them if I could ever find them to see if an unfilled pretzel can be cooked and end of soft, as I have to overcook the filled ones due to the inside filling.
So before you place that order with QVC and are wondering if you will like the Kim and Scott's Gourmet Pretzel line, consider trying them at a Publix or Fresh Market. For the price of shipping, you can either decide if this product line is right for you, or thank yourself you are not out a lot of money for a product you were less than thrilled with.
