Product Review: L De Lolita Lempicka

The perfume's bottle was what first attracted me to L de Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka. I know that it is important not to judge a book by the cover, but sometimes a beautiful cover design is what catches my eye first. Something similar happened with L de Lolita Lempicka.

About three months ago I was walking through a Sephora store, when a particular perfume bottle caught my eye. It was a rounded abstract shape made of a blue green glass. It has a golden metal netting around the top with a few small charms hanging from it. The bottle looked very ethereal and reminded me of a rock where mermaids might sit and brush their hair.

Judging from the bottle, I expected the perfume to be light and summery, and maybe reminiscent of a cool ocean breeze. I was completely wrong. The perfume had very deep, sensual notes. The strongest note was vanilla, with undertones of cinnamon, incense and orange. I don't usually like perfumes that smell like food, but L de Lolita Lempicka was different. The subtleness and complexity of the fragrance keep it from smelling like vanilla extract. Instead, it smells sultry, feminine, and exotic. It is a great smell for winter and for evening. Although the fragrance is subtle, it might be too overpowering for an everyday fragrance.

This perfume is not cheap, but neither is it expensive, especially considering how sophisticated it smells. A one ounce bottle costs $46 at sephora.com. If you only wear it as an evening fragrance, which is what I intend to do, it should last a long time.

L de Lolita Lempicka is definitely my new favorite perfume. The scent makes me feel sensual and sophisticated and everyone who has smelled it on me has told me they love it. Even my father, who usually hates perfume and complains about the overpowering smells, told me that he really likes the scent. It has a very unique smell that changes as you wear it. It starts out as a deep vanilla and as it wears on the skin it becomes lighter, but spicier. The only perfume that comes close enough to it to compare is Sui Dreams by Anna Sui. The main difference between the two is that L de Lolita Lempicka has more layers of scent.

If you are looking for a new evening scent, I highly recommend L de Lolita Lempicka. The scent is amazing and both men and women are sure to notice. As an added bonus, the bottle will be a great decoration and make you feel like a beautiful mermaid.
