Product Review: Lehcaresor Papier Poudre'

Joanna Lopez
Lehcaresor Papier Poudre' is my favorite thing in the world. They are small slender sheets of delicately sweet smelling powered blotting paper. It absorbs the oils on your face removing shine and dust, leaving a fresh and natural look. It goes on light and feels as if you have nothing on your face. It has a great sweet powder smell that smells like Johnson's baby powder.

The best thing is the slender lightweight booklet can be conveniently tucked away inside your handbag for touch ups. It is a great alternative to carrying a heavy powder compact, which can add extra weight to you handbag. I use it on those weekday mornings when I don't want to wear heavy makeup to work and just powder. I use it on the weekends when I am rushing around doing my chores. I just tear off a powdery sheet and dab my face for some color or to blot out the embarassing shine on my nose and off I go. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

I first came across the slender booklet of blotting sheets in The Body Shop at the mall. They were stuffed tightly inside a pocket of a wooden box displayed on a glass counter. I plucked one out from the box and stared at the picture of the pretty 20th century lady on the cover. She was inside a pearl encrusted circle frame looking quite sadly to the side. I then read the bold letters that spelled out "Lehcaresor" Papier Poudre. and asked my friend "What the hell is this?" She was the one who informed me what it was and what it did because she had a couple of booklets of powdered blotting sheets of her own. And now I can't live without it.

Lehcaresor blotting Papier Poudre' was created in 1903. The face powder compact as we know it today, wasn't readily available for women. It was developed for woman to wipe off sweat and street grime from their faces without a mirror.

Papier Poudre' is available in several shades of beautiful there is:
Rose-for dark/medium skin types
Rachel-for light skin types
White-for very light skin types.

I have tried Rachel, and White but found Rose works better for my dark/medium skin type. You may have to experiment to find the right shade of powder. You can find Lehcaresor Papier Poudre and others like this at The Body Shop, www.shopping.msn.com or www.dramaqueenstyle.com

Retail Price:
$2.75 per booklet 65 sheets.
$36.00 per box of 12 booklets each; containing 65 sheets.

I must say I LOVE this product, too! I also discovered it at the Body Shop years back. I think I was drawn first by the lady on the front cover. It's a very cute but practical addition to a purse. Great review. ~ A.
