Product Review: LG Front Load Washing Machine

Wow! Our new LG Front Load Washer is an awesome machine. We were not in the market for a new washing machine, but we had added a room over our garage and found the stair well over our top loading machine made laundry more than a bit difficult.

We drifted in and out of stores looking for a new washer. At Best Buy we came across the LG brand. LG washers and dryers were offered at several other stores but we tend to purchase brands we are familiar with. As we chatted with the sales representative at Best Buy I was really taken by the simplicity of the washing machine. I tend to get overwhelmed by too many options but the LG washer is very clear with the lighted buttons and dial on the face of the machine.

The electronic panel on the front of the machine can also be programmed, thus eliminating the thinking for non-technical people like myself. My husband was tickled pink to program the few basic types of washing that I do, and now I just spin a dial and press start. In all honesty, I could probably learn to program the LG myself, but my husband enjoys it far more than I do.

The washer is front loading, which solved our first most pressing problem, it fit in the space and we could access it easily. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that the door can be configured to open either direction, another plus for the LG washer!

Another feature that I like is the ability to put soap and other laundry additives in easily. There is a little pull out drawer at the front left side of the machine, each area is clearly marked. You just place your detergent, bleach, or fabric softner in the drawer and close it before you start the machine.

From an economical standpoint the LG has reduced our electrical bill about $25 per month on average. We have a family of 6, two of which are teens that wash their own laundry and everyone contributes to a never ending pile of towels. What the LG offers with the front loading machine is lower water consumption, better agitation for cleaning and you can also choose a higher spin cycle thus shortening the time spent for those towels in the dryer, as the dryer is what runs up the electric bill the most!

Overall, we are very please with our LG washer, and plan to purchase an LG dryer in the future when the time comes. LG also sells other types of products, and I will defiantly be looking at those items when I purchase my next appliance.

  • Front loading washing machines use less water.
  • Higher spin cycles eliminate more water from your clothes so they require less drying time.
Even in today's world of electronics, LG has found a way to make the operation of this washing machine simple and user friendly.

Stinky, smelly, sour clothes that were just washed in the horrible LG washer.
    Never recommend this crappy appliance.
How do you get this company to be responsible?
I got an extended warranty thru GE that must not be worth the paper it"s written on.GE extended warranty 877-843-3777 they almost never answer, leaves you on hold for over 15 minutes to wear you down.Home Depot acts like they never heard of this problem with GE warranty or the stinky appliance. If you are in Home Depot and see anyone even looking at this stuff tell them to keep walking. We bought an LG washer dryer unit, LG refrigerator and LG dishwasher they are not worth the trouble or money.
