The latest from dentist favorite Listerine is a kid-targeted mouthwash called Agent Cool Blue. I grabbed it off the shelf without hesitation when I saw on label: " Tints plaque for better brushing".
When I was a kid, my dentist would give me pink bubblegum flavored tablets that would tint the plaque on my teeth pink. I have always missed this product and have asked countless dentists for it since, with no luck. Listerine's Agent Cool Blue is the closest product I have seen to those tablets, and I could not be more thrilled.
Agent Cool Blue comes in two different flavors Glacier Mint and Bubble Blast. Both flavors are subtle, and not overwhelming like normal Listerine. Both flavors are sure to please any child or adult. Both tint the plaque on your teeth blue, and no, it is not a stain that is difficult to come off. This will not leave your mouth, lips, or tongue looking like you just sucked on an extra-large blow pop.
Not only is the taste and color kid-friendly, but the packaging is targeted to lure your youngsters in. And, of course, to aid their brushing. The label is fun, kind of shiny, and has a cool detective character (Agent Cool Blue himself). Also, the bottle has a built-in measuring top. Simply squeeze the bottle and the liquid rising to the marked fill line. No spill factor! This measuring top is something I have always looked for when buying my mouthwash. It just makes it easier. It's one reason I have always liked the ACT mouthwash. In spite of using ACT for several years now, I am switching to this new Listerine product. I know, I know, it's meant for kids. But I don't care. My plaque does not know that. And, I prefer the more subtle taste of the Cool Blue and Bubble Blast to the "adult" Listerine options.
Listerine's Agent Cool Blue is available in two different sizes: 250 ml and 500 ml (prices may vary). Neither flavor contains alcohol, and all ingredients are approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. More information is available on their website. Or you can call 1-800-223-0182, weekdays, 9AM - 5PM EST.
Also on their website (http://www.agentcoolblue.com/faq.aspx) is a kid friendly educational center. It offers a unique approach to educating children about dental hygiene and proper brushing technique. Kids can play an online game, enter to win The "Brush With Adventure" DVD, and by way of fun cartoon characters, learn about common causes of plaque and cavities. There is even a section for parents. This section highlights ways to make brushing more fun and appealing to your child. Available are: a product demonstration, brushing techniques, product information, and a link to the homepages of both Listerine and Pfizer.
This website is a great resource for all ages, with all levels of dental expertise. Listerine's Agent Cool Blue is, in my opinion, the greatest product to hit the oral care aisle of your grocery store.
