Product Review: Mary Kay TimeWise 3-in-1 Cleanser

Alyson Creek
I suffer with some very temperamental skin. At the same time that I have a breakout of acne, I also am plagued with patchy, dry skin. Then, to make it worse, I scrub my face clean with products that are supposed to cure the acne. These products just compound the dry skin, forcing me to moisturize with even more products that either fail to moisturize or make my acne worse. So it is an endless, vicious cycle that is miserable to the say the least.

If you should get the normal-to-dry cleanser, be aware that this formula does not suds up and (for me) did not wash the makeup off of my face at all. I took my complaint to my consultant who gladly switched out the cleanser for the combination/oily formula. This formula works so much better for me. The soap has micro beads to help to exfoliate the skin and aid in smoother, more illustrious skin.

This product is supposed to be used in the morning and in the evening. The instructions for this product are easy and the same as any facial cleanser.

1. Wet your face.
2. I use about the size of a penny in the palm of my hand, and work it in to a later.
3. Rub on your face and neck, avoiding your eyes. I usually take my time and rub thoroughly. I find this is somewhat of a mini facial massage.
4. Rinse of until all the soap is gone.
5. Pat skin dry.

This cleanser, as is all of the Mary Kay products, is meant to be used in conjunction with the other Mary Kay products. They are all supposed to complement each other, so using one and getting the results that you want, best requires the purchase of more than just this product. It is often sold in a set with other products that balance each other. The Miracle Set comes with the TimeWise® 3-in-1 Cleanser, TimeWise® Age-Fighting Moisturizer, TimeWise® Day Solution Sunscreen SPF 25, TimeWise® Night Solution, and the foundation of your choice. This is the smallest set of products. They get bigger with the price going to nearly $300.

The suggested retail price for this product is $18. It is very hard for me to say whether or not this product is worth the price. It lasts quite a long time. I have been using this cleanser for about a month-and-a-half and I have used maybe half the bottle. I can see a difference in my skin. It has been a while since my skin has looked so good, but it is far from what it used to be. Will I buy it again? More than likely, the answer to that will be yes, unless I find a reason not to before I run out of the product.
