Product Review: MaxiGlide Flat Iron

After much deliberation, I decided to try this out. After all the research, Maxiglide has many patents for the design, so I figure, hey it must work... and I was right! First of all it has over 120 detangling pins, a steamburst system, ridges and grooves on the outside, and ceramic technology create smooth, straight hair in just minutes, without blow drying the hair smooth first. Good news if you're like me and don't have the time or energy. Hey if I could blow dry my hair as straight as possible, why would I need a Maxiglide??? But I digress.

The ergonomic design is comfortable, it heats up super fast and in a few glides my hair is super soft and smooth! I followed the easy styling instructions and spritzed the ends with the burst of steam before going over my entire section of hair. This really helped defrizz and smooth my ends. They are usually very dry and I'm glad I didn't have to fry them to get my hair straight.

The detangling pins are smooth and didn't pull or snag my hair, and definitely detangled those tiny knots. I admit I'm a big fan of the elastic band for securing the giant pile of hair on my head at night, so I do get those little knots where my hair seems to mysteriously get caught.... (I did find a great elastic band, I'll write about that later!)

So as my hair was getting detangled and softened, I also used the Ceramic Steamburst Technology system to infuse the negative ions on my hair to create shiny, silky and smooth finish. My hair isn't easy to straighten, and it was not difficult with Maxiglide. I liked that it also has variable temperature controls so you can really direct the exact amount of heat you need. I don't like to use more than necessary (too much damage) but I want enough heat to get the job done. I used the setting around 7 and it seemed great for my hair.

One more great perk - the Maxiglide has protective styling channels and the body doesn't get hot. This is great so there was no concern of getting that crazy forehead or side of the neck burn from the iron. (Ever get one of those? I have gotten more than I care to share... must be my ADD). But not with the Maxiglide. Straight hair and I don't have to burn my skin or fry my ends? Hey that's a new concept!

I also found a great article on Styling Tips with your MaxiGlide, this really helped me get started. All in all, an A+ for Maxiglide! I might even try the Miniglide in the future, now that I'm a believer!
