Product Review of Merle Norman Cosmetics

There are many cosmetic brands of make-up on shelves today. The one that I have found to love so much is Merle Norman Cosmetics. If there is a Merle Norman shop near you I suggest you go check out the many products they have available. Also, a trained professional is on hand to determine what type of make-up is right for you. There are two products that I bought, their foundation, and the lip liner/lipstick in one.

I visited my local Merle Norman store in hopes to find some better foundation. I wanted something that would match my skin tone better as well as not make my face feel heavy. I was also worried about my face being oily and had noticed my face breaking out at times with other cosmetics. My Merle Norman consultant sat me down and showed me many shades of foundation to choose from. She then matched the shade that best suited my skin tone. With her help I was able to purchase the foundation I needed.

The make-up I selected was Luxiva Ultra Foundation with HC-12, Ivory. This foundation is not oil based. It is water based. I began using the foundation and after applying it I noticed how light it felt on my skin. I also noticed that after an hour of application, my face no longer looked oily. It evened out my skin and made my complexion look almost flawless. I was very impressed with the results.

That day I also purchased Merle Normans Lip Pencil Plus, Mocha Honey. This lip pencil is a two in one lip liner with matching lip color. I wasn't real impressed with this lipstick. It seemed too dry and after a few minutes my lips looked cracked. I had to reapply this lipstick off and on. I ended up having to use a small amount of lip-gloss to make it shine and not feel so dry. I received nice compliments about the color of lipstick, but I didn't really care for it. Some women may like the dry lipstick, if so then this may be a product for you.

This cosmetic line is a bit pricey, but you pay for what you get. My foundation was right at $20.00. The lip pencil was about $15.00. Merle Norman has a great cosmetic line. If you're looking for a professional consultant and finding the right shade, then try them. Also, they are great at picking the best products that are right for your skin type.
