The lounger is an attractive piece of mission-style furniture. It is made out of Southern Yellow Pine and left unfinished. It looks great as it is or you can finish it to match the rest of your furniture if you choose.
The product adjusts to a wide variety of different positions. It can be a normal chair with part of the mattress hanging off the back. The foot rest can be put on its lowest position and the mattress can cover it to create a more comfortable place to sit. The foot rest also can be lifted to be like a built in ottoman covered with the remainder of the mattress. Of course, the chair can be flattened out to support the mattress as a twin sized bed.
The mattress is 9 inches of a cotton and fibre-foam material that is quite comfortable. The fibre-foam is designed to last longer than most futon mattresses on the market. I like that there are so many wooden supports under the mattress that you do not feel the bars poking you while you try to sleep like typical, cheaper futons.
I like this lounger because it is more compact than other futons out there. I placed one in the corner of the small living room in my apartment so that I have a place for guests when they need to sleep over. I was not financially able to buy a new fold out sofa and I always feel bad asking people to sleep on the sofa cushions.
I enjoy reading in this chair because it allows you to put your feet up while still having arm rests on both sides. I find the foot rest to be more comfortable than those on normal recliners because there is no gap between the edge of the seat and the edge of the foot rest.
This is a great, multi-functional piece of furniture that is affordable and can be customized to fit any room. There is a variety of different covers that are purchased separately to cover the futon. I chose the plaid which is made up of a few different browns. The cover is neutral and would match with pretty much anything. Purchase this chair if you are looking for a compact way to get an extra bed into your apartment.
