The Moby Wrap can be worn in many different carries. An instructional booklet and video are available, but you can also create your own carries. Instructions include how to wear your baby for nursing, facing you, facing away from you, facing toward your back in a back carry, facing behind you in a back carry, and a hip carry, among others. As long as the baby is supported, you can carry him or her any way that's comfortable for both of you.
The Moby wrap is soft and breathable. It's made of one long piece of cotton knit fabric, so it can be worn in all types of weather. It's flexible and moderately stretchy, offering bounce and give while you walk, but not enough to get in the way of your activities.
The Moby Wrap can carry any child from a newborn to a 40-pound toddler. It keeps the baby close to you, while giving him or her the opportunity to observe what's going on around you. It also makes caring for a premature baby easier, by promoting skin-to-skin contact, also known as kangaroo care.
The Moby Wrap makes it possible for parents to do household chores, computer work, outside chores, and more, hands-free. And there will be no crying baby to contend with, because your child will be happy to be close to you, in the center of your activities. This promotes learning and curiosity in children.
You can also use the Moby Wrap as a blanket, nursing cover, sun shade, and more. It comes in several colors and is machine washable. The Moby D is another model, which offers a panel made of fleece, silk, or other fabric. This panel reinforces the cotton, providing a stronger place for the child to sit. The Moby D is a great wrap for a larger, heavier child.
The Moby Wrap and Moby D sell for approximately $35, plus shipping and handling. It's a large price to pay for a cotton wrap, but it's well worth it.
However, you can also make your own wrap with a long piece of fleece or cotton. But no matter which you choose, the Moby Wrap is designed simply, with no buttons, buckles, or straps, and is an excellent product, making babywearing and attachment parenting fun and easy.
