Product Review: Nestle Pure Life Fruit Splash Water

Jennifer Rodriguez
Since I am almost always on a diet, there are certain things that I look for in a beverage. Diabetes runs in my family, so the absence of sugar is one of the factors that I consider. I also look for beverages that are calorie-free and have no fat and low/ no sodium. Although plain spring water is definitely the best choice both weight and health wise, I am not a big fan of it. Recently I discovered a line of fruit-flavored waters from Nestle that I now cannot live without.

Nestle Pure Life was once a simple spring water brand, but it has recently extended into fruit-flavored waters as well. My two personal favorites are Tropical Fruit Splash and Peach-Mango Splash, but other flavors such as Lemon Splash and Kiwi-Strawberry Splash are also available.

This product is naturally flavored and calorie free. It has no fat and contains only 50 mg of sodium per serving. It is sweetened with Splenda and does not contain any sugar.

It is extremely refreshing and comes in a wide-variety of flavors. It can be found in the water/beverage aisle of most drug stores and supermarkets. They are usually sold in packs of 6 one-half liter bottles. As with most cool beverages, it is best when it is ice cold. I usually freeze it half way, but it is also enjoyable with ice.

In addition to the Splash line, Nestle also produces a line of Green Tea Refreshers. It is one of the only bottled green tea beverages on the market that is calorie free and does not contain sugar. It is caffeine free and available in Mandarin Orange as well. In some respects, it is even healthier than the fruit waters because it is a natural antioxidant.
