This is the ultimate in sunless tanning that I absolutely can't do without! With the increase in premature aging and/or skin cancer due to overexposure from the sun or tanning beds, it's no wonder that sunless tanners are increasingly in demand. These particular products used to be refer to as "fake tanners" with an orange unnatural look which produced a foul odor, but today using self-tanning creams, lotions, and sprays produce a natural looking tan just as much as sunbathing. Those who are fair complected and burn easily, such as myself, are especially prone to skin cancer, so the new revolution in self-tanners is considered that of a godsend. In my years of trials and tests looking for the perfect one, Neutrogena Micro Mist Tanning Sunless Spray is by far the best.
You don't have to be an expert in applying this, since this goes on evenly. If you are a busy mom like me, you obviously don't have a lot of time to apply creams or lotions that require you to wait 20 minutes before dressing! In fact, you don't even have to rub this on your skin, since the fine mist works from any angle. It dries in less than five minutes and won't stain your clothes! Hours later, you are left with a sun-kissed glow that compliments your skin. It doesn't contain any foul odor, either, so you can do your "tanning" before going off to work. The best part of all about this product is that it doesn't cost a fortune! Most retail stores such as Wal-Mart or Meijer in the Midwest sell this 5.3 ounce container between $9-$10. You can go to the pricey department store and pay twice as much if you prefer, but you won't get a better product.
Before using, always apply to clean, dry skin. It is also highly recommended that you exfoliate in the shower as well, to get rid of the dead skin cells. When using, hold the can at least 6 inches away from skin and use in a circular motion. Use sparingly around the rough patches of your skin, such as your knees and elbows, since these parts tend to attract more color. This is common sense which we repeatedly tell our kids to do, but wash hands after each use as well. I recommend you use it for a few days in a row until you get the desired glow, then use twice a week to maintain your golden color. Just a precaution: this product doesn't contain a sunscreen, so use one before playing outside in the sun. Use a different product to use on your face, though, since there is the risk of getting this in your eyes when spraying. Neutrogena makes wonderful bronzing tanners for the face, which also bring out a healthy sun-kissed glow..
Neutrogena sells this product in two shades: medium and dark. If you are just starting out or are fair complected like me, I would advise you to start with the medium shade, also classified as two shades darker. After a few uses, if you still want to go darker, you can move up to dark shade, also classified as three shades darker. Although this may not turn you into a Hawaiian Tropic tan beauty, it is a heck of a lot safer than years of overexposure to the sun. You don't even have to leave your home and pay tanning bed fees. What's more important? Looking tan as you can now, or looking eternally youthful by taking care of your skin? It's the only skin you have, so take care of it and stay out of the sun!

Post a CommentNeurtrogena is by far one of the worst I've tried. It turned me yellow/orange and it was horrible. I spray tan in the salon now but to keep in going inbetween I found Hawaiian Tropic Radiance Self Tanner Shade 3 Medium-Dark, gives the best color out of the drugstore brands. It's a white foam that doesn't transfer on clothes and I love the color. It's by far the best I've tried, and I've tried so many it's crazy. It's called ultra cream. No orange tint at all. I've used Jergens, Neutrogena, Lancome, etc. etc. Hawaiian Tropic "the best" inexpensive one.
