Do you like Nabisco's Fig Newton cookies but hate those little seeds getting in your teeth? If you answered yes then you should try Nabisco's new cookies called, Newtons Fruit Thins. I saw these new cookies on the grocery store shelf and I was attracted to the packing first, it is very colorful. Then I read the front panel and thought that perhaps they would taste like Fig Newton's but even better.
I purchased one package at Publix at a cost of $3.89 a pack. I looked at all 3 flavor choices and I chose the fig and honey flavor combo. The package size is 10.5 ounces. The cookies are in a slide out plastic tray containing 30 cookies. They are very crisp cookies and the plastic trays helps to keep them from getting crushed. The package flap folds over in order to keep them fresh once they are opened.
All of the calorie and portion size information is on the side of the package, if you are into that. If you aren't, just eat them and enjoy them!
The first thing you will notice about Newtons Fruit Thins is how thin the cookies are. Now bit into one and get ready for the crispness of the cookie. The fig taste is there, but you don't get any little seeds stuck in your teeth. They actually have a lot of flavor and I can say that if you try them you will like them.
They have a cranberry citrus combination which is also very good. The third variety is raspberry chocolate. I tried that because I am chocolate lover. That combination is the only one I did not like. The tiny pieces of raspberry actually tasted burnt and the chocolate flavor was lacking. I tried two cookies to give it a fair try, and I also had my husband taste one. Neither of us liked that variety so they went right into the trash.
Newtons Fruit Thins are made with whole grain. These cookies are good for kids or adults. Try them with a cup of tea of coffee as an after dinner treat. If you like an evening snack while watching TV, these would be perfect. They have just enough sweetness to satisfy your sugar cravings.
Be on the lookout for specials such as buy one get one free, or perhaps you can find a coupon for Newtons Fruit Thins. . They are so unique and flavorful that these Newtons Fruit Thins may become your favorite cookie.

Post a CommentI have been wondering if these would be good. Thanks for the review.
The trash? Why didn't you feed them to the bird!? Quite frankly, I am presently hooked on the Vanilla Double-Stuff Oreos!
Thanks for the review, Abby. My mom wanted these at the store this week but our Publix didn't have them.
