Product Review: Old Navy Jeans

SE
I usually prefer Levi's or American Eagle jeans, but decided to try a pair from Old Navy when they were on sale for a really good deal. I was not very impressed with the pair I got, and probably won't buy jeans from them again.

To start with, Old Navy jeans come in 3 cuts: sweetheart, flirt, and diva. Sweetheart is a classic rise, flirt is a mid-rise, and diva is a low rise. The sweetheart and flirts were too high waisted on me, which left me with the diva cut. This cut fit ok on me, but not great. I was somewhat in between sizes, so had a hard time narrowing down a size. I was also in between "lengths"; short was almost too short and regular was way too long.

Aside from having a little trouble deciding on what size was going to work best, selection wasn't too difficult. The Old Navy store I was at did have "my" size in stock. There were a few different washes (light, medium and dark) to choose from as well.

At first, these jeans were good for me to wear to work, as they fit alright, just not as I prefer, and were affordable enough I wouldn't care too much if something got spilled on or rubbed off on them. (Old Navy is usually known for basics like jeans and shirts at good prices). However, after about two months they developed a big run in them, similar to what a run in tights or nylons look like.

This big run quickly became a big ol' hole. I wouldn't have minded so much if it was a small hole that could be patched. Not only was the hole a bit too big for me to patch, it was so close to the crotch of the jeans that I couldn't wear them anymore. So I have nearly new Old Navy jeans ready for the garbage. Plus side is many Old Navy stores are very flexible about letting you return or exchange defective merchandise. However, I don't think I'll buy Old Navy jeans again.
