Product Review: The Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner
The shampoo lists only ten ingredients, unlike my regular shampoo, which lists twenty-four. Also listed on the back of the bottle are directions for both human use and animal use. This product can be used to wash your pets' hair, as well as your own. Despite that, the makers of the shampoo do not test on animals.
I have dry hair, especially in the winter months, when my hair is prone to static and my scalp is prone to dandruff. My regular shampoo seemed to exacerbate these problems. Once I made the switch to the Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner, these problems quickly cleared. My hair seemed stronger and had more body and my dandruff issues subsided almost immediately.
Even though I have dry hair, I tend to have an oily scalp, so I approach using conditioner with caution. It tends to make my hair greasy and flat. I found that the Original Mane 'n Tail conditioner, which has only seventeen ingredients, actually gives my hair body and fullness. Rubbing the conditioner into my scalp moisturizes it without adding extra oil and greasiness.
According to the directions on the bottle, the conditioner can be used as a rinse-out conditioner or a leave-in conditioner. I opt to rinse the conditioner out of my hair and I still get the full benefits of the product. The package claims that the conditioner works five ways. It conditions and fortifies hair for a healthy look. It also helps prevent hair breakage and split ends, nourishes the scalp, corrects the drying effects of the elements, and keeps hair tangle free and manageable. I have found all of these to be true as my hair has been much healthier since I began using the Original Main 'n Tail conditioner.
The Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner are sold in large, 32 fluid ounce bottles. I found the product at a local CVS for $7.29 a bottle. To me, this is an expensive shampoo, but the large bottles mean that the product will last for some time. I use about a nickel-sized amount of shampoo each time I wash, so I estimate that this bottle of shampoo is going to last me for a year or more.
I recommend The Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner to anyone with dry hair who needs a gentle shampoo to prevent damage. The products are safe for those who have permed or color-treated hair.

Post a CommentI just started using mane and tail shampoo and conditioner (the "herbal grow" version in the green bottle) about a month and a half ago. I'm loving it! My hair has never been this shiny...ever. Just to clarify, no where on the bottle does it say that it makes your hair grow FASTER. It says it reduces breakage and split ends, which in turn allows your hair to grow longer. I have however noticed that my hair looks fuller, longer and much healthier. Occasionally it leaves my hair more tangled than usual but I find brushing my hair well before showering tends to make a huge difference and sometimes eliminates the tangles completely. I use a leave in conditioner spray (I always used it before mane and tail as well) and have noticed the combination together does wonders. Honestly I would just try it for yourself, not all shampoos and conditioners work the same way for everyone. Thumbs up for me on this one though!

That's awesome, I have always wanted hair growing down my back. Then I won't even have to buy a new winter coat. What a money saver!! Raychel- You may have a condition called trichotilliomania in which you rip you hair out. Your hair sounds nasty, but you'd probably look worse bald.

Those of you who are dissatisfied with the product need to realize that no one guaranteed positive results. Instead of bashing it, you should encourage others to try it for themselves. Because this is something for something that is custom for everyone, our hair, it will work differently. That doesn't mean that it will work horribly for every user just because that is how it was for you. There is no way for a hair product to work the same for every user. Get that through your head! I recommend this product after just one use! My hair is softer and shinier and so much more manageable. I have insanely curly hair and would recommend it to anyone with curls because it works so well with detangling it! Anyone with curls knows how awful tangles are with this hair. I used the product then fixed my hair and it looked FANTASTIC! I could not stop staring at it. It isn't for everyone, as you can all obviously see by the rude remarks made by other users. I got a haircut that was until my collar bone and i hated it!! so i used the shampoo & conditioner and it made my hair grow soo fast!! my hair is very thick and grows really fast already, but this made it grow even faster!
This product made my hair very frizzy and feel disgusting. I don't know how it was a "miracle shampoo and conditioner" for other pople, but it made my hair look and feel disgusting. I do not recommend. I was so disappointed because I was so excited for this product too =/
bought the shampoo and condtioner 2 days yesterday.. and LOVE it! it makes my hair so soft and full (the shampoo makes it dry but the condtioner helps so much! makes ti so soft but without weightening it down.) would definitely recommend it :D
I never write reviews and this product was so bad, that I just had to write about it. I have naturally curly hair and it made it even more dry and frizzy. I wanted to rip my hair out because it would feel horrible. this shampoo is bullcrap and a complete waste of money. Take my word for it
Mane and tail does not help hair grow. No shampoo has the ability to do this. And if there is, then it wouldn't be sold in drugstores for $5. This shampoo is made for horses and it should stay that way!! I don't understand why so many people like it because it does NOT make your hair any softer. It's a waste of money. Don't even think twice about purchasing it.
