Product Review: OSIM UCrown 2 Soothing Head Massager

Getting a great scalp massage on your own is hard to do. Luckily, there is the OSIM uCrown 2 Soothing Head Massager. This is the first product of its kind that I had ever seen so I had to try one out. The uCrown 2 sells for about $200 from Brookstone. It is a device that you wear around your head to massage your scalp. It is supposed to feel like real human hands are massaging you.

The uCrown is worn sort of like a helmet. You will look completely ridiculous with it on so you might want to keep this one just for use in the privacy of your own home. The product massages in a few different ways. It uses air pressure, vibration, magnet therapy, and heat. Its goal is to reduce tension by improving circulation. There are preprogrammed settings that allow the machine to massage different pressure points depending on the way you are feeling.

The uCrown is comfortable to wear because it had padding inside and adjusts to fit the size of your head. It has a timer that turns the massaging off automatically after 5, 10, or 15 minutes.

The device runs off four AA batteries which makes it portable so you can use it all over your house and lawn. I like to wear mine while I'm doing dishes as it makes an unfavorable activity into a more positive one.

The uCrown also has built-in speakers so you can listen to relaxing music that is programmed into the product. There are three categories of music including Wellbeing, Ambiance, and Nature. I prefer to listen to my own music so I usually turn this feature off since I do not find it to be that relaxing. The music turns off if you hold down the music button for about five seconds.

The product is easy to use since all you have to do is place it on your head and select which program you would like it to run. It will turn itself off when it is done. I like to use mine every day after work to relieve stress and reduce the tension in my muscles from sitting at a computer all day. I suffer from bad headaches which I usually get once or twice a week and putting this device on helps to ease the pain. Overall, while being overpriced, this product does a good job of what it was designed to do in relieving tense muscles.
