Product Review: Pantene's Color Preserve Shine Shampoo and Conditioner

Recently I had the opportunity to try Pantene's new Color Preserve Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. I have mid-length, blond hair that I color every couple of months. Early graying is a family trait, so I began coloring my hair years ago. I normally wear my hair straight but in a shaped, layered cut.

My Hair Problems

My main complaints about my hair are fading color and the overall dryness. I like swimming and being outdoors, so the color dulls quickly. I was thrilled to see that Pantene had new products to promote shine and strength. I was intrigued at the prospect of having hair products made for my color-treated hair. I was hoping to receive the shinier, healthier hair that was advertised.

Pantene's Color Preserve Shine Shampoo and Conditioner is part of the Hair Solutions line. Each bottle contains 12.6 fluid ounces of product. The bottles are plastic and have flip top lids.

How I Used the Products

I hopped in the shower, wet my hair and squirted a quarter-sized amount into the palm of my hand. The shampoo foamed up richly, and as I massaged it into my hair, it released a nice smell. After I rinsed my hair, I gently squeezed the water from my hair. I squirted a dime-sized amount of product from the conditioner. I towel dried my hair after I left the shower and allowed it to air dry. After my hair dried, I straightened it as I normally do.

The Results

These products were easy to use and had a great smell. I have found other hair products I have used seem to slow down the drying process, Pantene's Shine products did not. On my next hair washing, I blow dried my hair afterward, and I loved the shine even more. My husband even tried this product, and now I have to fight with him over the shampoo bottles.

Did it make my hair shinier? Yes! I love a straight, sleek, shiny-hair look, and these two products did it for me. I especially like the conditioner. It does not feel heavy when you put it in your hair or afterward, as some "corrective" shampoos can.

Did it make my hair healthier? I guess only time will tell, but my hair feels stronger and bouncier. I also noticed that I shed a little less hair than normal. My hair smells terrific and looks fabulous. I like these two products and will use them again.
