I fell in love with it as I was putting it on my cheeks. As I said, I bought this in the summer, and if you know the weather in Michigan, it's so humid and hot at the same time; my skin turns to an oily mess whenever I am outside. So, I was in serious need of some oil-control products. But, when I used the oil-controlling products, I always experienced excessive drying and my skin flaked like crazy. So, I couldn't deal with my oily skin in any other way than constantly wiping my face with a blotting tissue. That is, until I found the Pores No More.
I don't really see this as a makeup primer but I guess it kind of works that way and can replace a makeup primer. Well, it does refine the pores making it look less visible and control oil and it does have a slight tint but I didn't feel that it really covered up anything. The reason why I'm saying that this could be used as a makeup primer is because it feels really similar to the DHC velvet skin coat. Well, it is not completely similar since Pores No More feels much lighter -DHC's velvet coat feels really thick on skin whereas Pores No More feels virtually weightless on skin- and it does smooth the skin when DHC's velvet coat is so great at smoothing the skin's surface. But, the great thing about Pores No More is that it makes the skin as soft and silky as the DHC's velvet coat does.
In short, Dr. Brandt's Pores No More controls oil really well, is very light, and makes skin feel very soft. Also, it is so light that you can apply it over the makeup whenever you need to control oil. It works so great that way. The best thing is how soft the skin feels after putting it on as I could not stop touching my skin. And at the same time, the oils are completely gone. But, I do not feel that this made pores gone. It might have made my pores smaller but it was not noticeably smaller or anything like that.
You have to consider the price though. It is $45 for a 1oz tube. It has a really great packaging so that it won't drip and you wouldn't waste any but it's still pretty expensive. If you are looking for a really light oil controller that would not cause breakouts, I would recommend blotting papers rather than this because if the cost, but if you want to experience the super soft skin, you should give it a try. But, the softness wasn't permanent and was gone right after I washed it off. So, give it a lot of thought as to what you want out of this product before buying it.
