Product Review: Post-It Flag Highlighters and Pens

Joshua Cook
Since I know many of the users of Associated Content are either Content Providers or college students, I want to tell you about the 3M Post-It Flag Highlighters and Pens. These little, handy-dandy tools are more useful than you could imagine. The Post-It Flag Highlighters and Pens will be among the most used products you own once you start using them.

Let's first look at the Post-It Flag Highlighters. These highlighters come equipped with their own red, Post-It Flag dispensers for easy and convenient use. The dispenser also has a twist open/close cover to protect your Post-It tabs. These Post-It Flag Highlighters can be purchased in single packs of yellow highlighters or in highlighter multi-packs which feature three of five total highlighter colors (blue, pink, yellow, green, or orange). The only downfall of these neat highlighters is that red is the only color the flags come in right now, though I'm sure 3M will make more flag colors available for both the Post-It Flag Highlighters and the Post-It Flag Pens. The highlighters are just perfect. They don't mark too light or so heavy that you can barely read what is you wanted to note to begin with. I bought my Post-It Flag Highlighters three-pack, which gave me yellow, green, and orange, about eight months ago. I use them constantly for school, and the ink isn't even close to drying up.

The Post-It Flag Pens are the same general concept. Purchased in single packs, these black ink pens write perfectly, with no clumping or fading in and out, and come with the same refillable Post-It Flag dispensers as the Post-It Flag Highlighters. These flags also only come in red, but, again, more colors will probably be coming soon enough. There are Post-It Flag refill pads for both the Post-It Flag Highlighters and Pens.

Now we get to look at all the great uses the Post-It Flag Highlighters and Pens will be put to. Speaking from my current college experience, they are the most useful items I bring to class and use to study. I hate to always have the larger sized Post-It notes sticking out of the sides of my books. These little flags look neater, and can be placed more systematically than their larger counterparts. So what is so convenient about having the Post-It Flag Highlighters 2-in-1 combo? When you flag a page, or in my case, many pages, you are able to go straight to the page you want, but then you have to search for the reason you flagged it. Maybe you are one of those people that highlight all the time, but searching for the sections you've highlighted takes up a huge chunk of your time. With the Post-It Flag Highlighters and Pens, you can mark or highlight whatever you want, and then just pull a Post-It Flag from your handle and you're off to the races.

I also use my Post-It Flag Highlighters and Pens for my Associated Content submissions. When I write long articles that tend to veer off topic, I will just print up the articles and highlight and mark my changes. I then number the flags and use them to mark which paragraphs go together better so I can cut and paste them to make more than one article. By doing this, I'm able to make more concise articles and more money, since I am submitting more than one article.

Great review. I think I could be sufficiently distracted by these, which is what happens to me when I find "neat" office supplies. ;-)
