First, it is fewer calories. Each individually wrapped packet contains ten sticks. The packet is 90 calories. Calories from fat are 30.
If you are thinking traditional Pringles, think again. These don't resemble them in shape or flavor. They are not a potato product. They are a wheat-based product. They are stick form, very skinny and crisp. Loaded with flavor. Currently, there are four varieties: Pizza, Honey Butter, Vanilla, and Crunchy Wheat. I've tried two of the four flavors: pizza and honey butter.
Finding them in your grocery store might be tricky. I found mine between the potato chips and pretzels. Not in the cracker and cookie isle among the 100 calorie items. So keep your eyes open and consider looking elsewhere.
These sticks can be dipped into all sorts of flavors but they are tasty on their own. I favor the pizza flavor and found it to be truly right on par with its seasonings and reminded me of a quaint little family owned pizzeria. I wish I could find that flavor in a real pizza. The Honey butter is the other flavor I have tried. It was a bit heavy on the butter flavoring but I did get used to it. It was not similar to movie popcorn butter flavoring if you are thinking that; but rather, it reminded me of a stick of butter. Although I like butter on rolls and bread, this was an overpowering butter flavor at first. I am now interested in trying the other two flavors. I will probably purchase the Crispy Wheat first and I assume they might be nice to dip into something like cream cheese or peanut butter.
Pringles Stixs could satisfy the need for flavor and crunch while watching your calories. I imagine paired with a salad, you'd be fully content with your meal. You'd have the healthy greens from the salad along with the need for something crunchy provided by the stixs. I imagine these could work with a variety of diet plans. The low calorie, full flavor, wheat based baked product is a satisfying snack.
I don't know if Pringles is considering adding additional flavors to their Stixs product line. But I think they truly have a unique new snack product. I may not continue to purchase all the flavors, but I will at least give them all a try once and continue to purchase those flavors I enjoy best.
