I had to use a lot of spaghetti/pasta sauces to find Ragu Old World Style Traditional Pasta Sauce that I now use exclusively. It is NOT too sweet, it is NOT too tart, and it does NOT have chunks in it. Those are my personal preferences (and those of my family) when it comes to a spaghetti sauce so I really enjoy Ragu Old World Style Traditional!
Ragu Old World Style Traditional Pasta Sauce is not just for spaghetti or pasta dishes either. I also use it when I make pizza, lasagna, and eggplant or chicken parmigiana. I can put it on bagels and make bagel pizzas or I can add any type of meat to it and put it with angel hair pasta for a delicious spaghetti alternative. If you prefer an old-fashioned smooth spaghetti sauce, try Ragu Old World Style Traditional Pasta Sauce. It's reasonably priced and generally cost around $2.00 per jar and the stores seem to get it on sale fairly often so you can pick up several jars then. It's very convenient and easy to make a quick meal when you're in a hurry.
Ragu advertises that one half a cup of their Traditional sauce has a full serving of vegetables, is a good source of Vitamin A, has no additives and preservatives, no cholesterol or transfat and is low in saturated fat. The list of ingredients in Ragu Traditional Pasta Sauce is: Tomato Puree, Water, Tomato Paste, Soybean Oil, Salt, Sugar, Dried Onions, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Spices, Romano Cheese, Part-Skim Milk, Cheese Cultures, Salt, Enzymes, and Natural Flavor. There are 70 calories for each half cup of Ragu Traditional Pasta Sauce with no fat calories.
I recommend Ragu Old World Traditional Style Pasta Sauce for any dish that calls for a red sauce and especially if you are in a hurry. Opening a jar is so easy and convenient when you've got a hungry family to feed. Plus our kids won't eat a sauce that has chunks of anything in it so Ragu Old World Style Traditional Pasta Sauce is a great way to get some vegetables into the kids!
