What is the Best Aquatic Turtle Health Conditioner

Malina Debrie
What is the Best Aquatic Turtle Water Conditioner? ReptoGuard is one of the best water conditioning products on the market used to help keep your aquatic turtle healthy and disease free.

Speedy is my son's aquatic turtle. My son bought Speedy right after he was born. You know those small kiosk in the malls during the Christmas season selling everything from purses, to baby turtles? Well, my son was pulled in by one of these when he saw maybe fifty of the cutest little turtles moving around in one. Everyone was just amazed at the tiny little turtles about an inch around and long.

My son questioned the saleperson and seemed to be convinced that the turtle would grow no larger than his surroundings. And that statement was true, except the slesperson failed to tell him the turtles will grow as large as their home and then you have to purchase a larger home. If not, they become irritable and too large for comfort.

At any rate, my son fell in love with Speedy and so he has been a part of the family since 2003. Speedy requires a lot of food. So I make surehe always has enough food. If he doesn't, he almost talks to you when you enter my sons room. Speedy recognizes the family. he knows I am one of the major feeders. So when I enter my sons room, Speedy runs to the glass and begins to move in a manner that acknowledges that he is aware of my presence.

A few months back, I noticed Speedy having some type of slimy gunk coming from under the area arund his mouth. I asked my son if he had seen the gunk before and he said no. Well, I am an avid believer in caring for any critter we have. I do not just allow them to become ill and that's it. I went to the closest Walmart and began to look around for something to remove the gunk and make sure speedy remained healthy.

Immediately I came upon a small white turtle looking object. I read the package to see what this item would do as far as cleaning the aquarium and removing anything that could cause Speedy to become ill. The information provided on the packet seemed to display what I figured was needed to take care of the gunk around his mouth. Walmart only had about ten of these small packets so, I grabbed them all.

After a couple of weeks, I noticed the gunk was clearing and Speedy seemed to be moving around quicker. So, I think with regular cleanings, and placing one of the small turtle looking ReptoGuards in his aquarium he will continue to be happy and healthy. ReptoGuard is available in a small dark green packet. It is made in the form of a small white turtle. The white turtle is surrounded by a hard plastic film.

I'm like you -- an animal should be treated like a member of the family. It's important to take proper care of any living creature. We were told, not to abuse the animals, but to have them in subjection -- this means loving subjection.
