The chocolates come in a rollover bag with a picture of the Swiss Alps and a decadent looking cup of coffee loaded with whipped cream and garnished with chocolates and nuts. The picture of the actual chocolate looks as creamy, comforting and inviting as the cup of rich coffee.
The serving size is 3 pieces, there are about 3 ½ servings per package, and they are individually wrapped. Each serving has 200 calories, 12 grams of fat, 7 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 10 mg of cholesterol (3% of the RDA), 40 mg of sodium (2% of the RDA), 20 grams of carbohydrates, 0 grams of dietary fiber, 19 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein. A serving also contains 10 percent of the RDA of Calcium, and 2% of the RDA of Vitamin A, C and Iron. Although the chocolates have no nuts they are made on equipment that processes nuts, eggs, and wheat so they are not allergy-free.
The texture of these chocolates was super creamy and rich and they melted in my mouth. The bottom layer is a cool, crisp white chocolate. The middle layer is a mocha mousse, and the top layer is smooth milk chocolate. The three flavors worked extremely well together and the mocha flavor was subtle yet very present. The Swiss Lodge Mocha Cream chocolates are definitely dreamy, delicious and dramatically decadent.
I think that anyone who loves chocolate and coffee together will love these. Even if you don't like to drink coffee, the subtle mocha taste only enhances the flavor of the white and milk chocolate. Although these chocolates are delicious on their own, I can't help but imagine how they would taste crumbled over a small dish of light coffee or chocolate ice cream. I think they would also be wonderful crumbled into small pieces and sprinkled over your latte or cappuccino for a special treat. Another idea would be to break chunks of these bars into brownies or cookies for an extraordinary addition. I highly recommend Russell Stover's Swiss Lodge Mocha Cream as a truly great chocolate experience.
