Vampires are a big thing these days. What with Twilight and True Blood and the Anita Blake books and every other vampire story out there, vampires are more popular than ever. In 2008, "vampire" was the third most popular Halloween costume for adults.

This is all perfectly understandable. A sexy, bad-ass vampire is a great costume. But, alas, the most important component of the costume - fangs - is often the hardest to find. There are those cheesy, plastic party favor vampire fangs that hurt your mouth and look stupid; there are the stick-on vampire fangs that require messy goo to keep them in place; there are the mold-your-own vampire fangs that are not only hard to use, but look stupid...what's a wannabe vampire to do?

That's where Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs come in. Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs are reusable, fit tight and won't fall out, and don't require messy bonding paste. All that you need comes right in the package.

Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs come with customizing fluid that is mixed with the enclosed powder to create the bonding compound, which, once placed in the fang which is in turn placed over the correct tooth, creates a perfect cast of said tooth. Durable

Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs are made of nylon, which is perhaps the best material for fangs to be made of. Plastic cracks and wax distorts, but nylon keeps its shape and doesn't wear down. Unless you are particularly hard on your Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs, you will not need to purchase a second pair.

Not only are there many different types of fangs - subtle, natural, shredder - but there are also werewolf fangs and dental distortion fangs! There are enough different types of Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs to suit any vampire or werewolf costume.

Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs - The Cons

Expensive

Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs are expensive. There's no denying this fact. Even the cheapest pair is close to fifteen dollars, and prices can get as high as forty or fifty dollars for the bigger vampire fangs and the Dental Distortions teeth. However, as stated above, they are high-quality and you really are getting what you pay for.

No Fake Blood

Unfortunately, if you use Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs, you have to go easy with the fake blood. Don't put it in or around your mouth - if you do, you run the risk of getting it on your Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs, which will turn them pink. So unless you want pink fangs (which, if you want pink fangs, I think you'd just buy them, since Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs are available in different colors) don't use fake blood.

Although, this really shouldn't be an issue. If you want a good vampire costume, you won't use blood anyway. A centuries-old vampire isn't going to get blood all over him or herself when he or she eats. It just doesn't happen.

Dental Issues

Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs cannot be used with braces. Neither can Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs be used with dental molding or crowns. The bonding compound could very well damage or destroy expensive dental work.

Also, if you have sensitive gums, Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs are not a good idea. They can rub gums and cause bleeding if you are sensitive.

Overall, I give Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs a nine out of ten, taking a point because of expense and the inability to use fake blood. However, the pros far outweigh the cons. If you want to look like a true vampire this Halloween (or even just for the sake of wearing a costume) Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs are a must.
