Product Review of New Scope Outlast Mouthwash

Angel
I recently received a new product named Scope Outlast Mouthwash as part of a beta product testing program I'm a part of. I have of course used he original Scope in the past. It's always been the same old thing though, green colored, and no real burn like you get with Listerine. I wasn't really expecting much from the new Scope Outlast mouthwash. The bottle I was supplied of Scope was a 25.4 ounce bottle which contains 37 uses. On the bottle it says "Breath feels fresh up to 5X longer verses brushing alone."

I figured since this was new, though I already knew how to use mouthwash, I should read the directions. After all when it comes to beta testing, never assume anything. Scope Outlast says to "Rinse or gargle for 30 seconds with 20 ML, about 2/3 capful of Scope. Do not swallow."

After brushing I used Scope Outlast. There was no huge burning sensation, just a slight burning to let me know it was working. The burning quickly faded and I was just left with a minty sensation. I don't really know what I was expecting, but obviously I was expecting more then Scope Outlast could deliver. The only time I noticed Scope Outlast working longer then brushing, and Listerine was if I didn't drink, or eat anything through out my day. This wasn't and isn't an option. A girl's got to eat! Because I only drink water I had thought Scope Outlast would still be working well into lunch hour. This wasn't the case. Though I had fresh breath, I didn't have that clean feeling you get from brushing with any other toothpaste, and mouthwash. My teeth didn't feel any cleaner and my breath didn't feel any fresher. I also didn't notice it still working when I got up in the morning, even four hours later.

I personally think Scope repackaged their original mouthwash, and gave it another name "Scope Outlast" hoping to make a stronger impact on the competition. It just doesn't cut it for me. I've tried Crest's mouthwash, and love theirs because of the no burning. So that makes Crest better then Listerine. However, Scope is no better then any other product out there on the market already. So why bother investing in a new mouthwash, when their old works just fine.

I do however love the top of the Scope Outlast bottle. It looks like a flower. Other then that, I'm not at all impressed with the so called changes to the product. It's been overhauled to 2000's but stuck in the 80's.

I rate the new Scope Outlast Mouthwash 2 stars out of 5.
