Product Review: Stouffer's Lean Cuisine Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza

Stouffer's makes a huge line of its Lean Cuisine meals. According to their website, there are more than 120 varieties of Lean Cuisine meals to choose from. They range from pasta and pizza to fish and chicken. I find them to be an easy and quick meal to make for lunch while I am at work. The most recent one I have tried is the Wood Fire Style Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza.

Lean Cuisine meals are known to be lower in fat and calories than the regular Stouffer's meals. The Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza contains 8 grams or fat, 330 calories, 42 grams of carbohydrates and 600 mg of sodium. All in all, that's not too bad for a lunch.

When I heated up the Stouffer's Lean Cuisine in the microwave at work, the smell of garlic filled the halls. Everyone that walked by wanted to know what I was eating because it smelled so good. You cook the Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza right in the box it comes in. You open the box and flip the lid inside out. It has one of those gray plastic sheets on it for you to place the pizza on. This helps to crispen the crust as it cooks. The cheese melted in the amount of time the box listed to cook it at, which was 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

Now when you think of pizza, you think a tomato sauce topped which mozzarella cheese and other toppings. This Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza is a little different from that. For one, there is no tomato based sauce. Instead there is a creamy garlic sauce. The cheese is reduced fat mozzarella cheese. The cheese is topped with chicken, roasted garlic pieces, and onions. It really is a great and delicious combination of toppings. They all complement each other quite well.

Since the meal is more like a lunch option than a dinner option, because of its size, I would recommend adding a little something to your meal. Perhaps a side salad or something to that effect would work well. The pizza is great, but not quite enough to hold you over until dinner time.

Overall, this product is great and lives up to its reputation. It his decent when it comes to healthy eating options. It's convenient and fast to make as well. The only suggestion I would make is that the plastic wrapping the pizza is in could be a little easier to open. I have to use scissors to cut it. Some frozen foods come in a peel away plastic wrapping which I think would work well for the Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza.
