Product Review: Strawberry Milkshake Flavored Oreos
Do the New, Limited Edition Oreos Taste like Strawberry Milkshakes?
I finally decided that the higher price might be worth it and I went back and purchased the box. You see, I am a very frugal food shopper and I don't like to spend extra money. I felt that the higher price might not be justified because the regular Oreo package is 18 ounces and this Limited Edition box was only 12 ounces. By the nutritional info and my calculations that equals approximately an eight-cookie difference. I later found the Limited Edition Strawberry Milkshake Creme Oreos at another store for the same price as the regular Oreos. Like they say, it pays to shop around.
I do like to buy Double Stuff Oreo cookies on occasion; they go great dipped in a tall glass of milk. I also know that Nabisco tries out new Oreo flavors every once in a while. There have been several kinds that I just do not care for such as the Oreos with mint creme and the Oreos with peanut butter creme. We do enjoy the Oreo Cakesters, the mini bite sized Oreos and the milk chocolate covered Oreo cookies.
One of my children actually got to taste the new strawberry milkshake flavored Oreo's before me. After the first bite they proceeded to spit the Oreo cookie out into the garbage can. Needless to say this was not a good sign and I was uncertain that I would enjoy these new Limited Edition Oreo's now. So as I was about to test out these new Oreo's I was worried that I had wasted my money and they would all go into the trash.
When I did try the new Strawberry Milkshake Creme Oreo cookie it did not make me want to spit it into the trash. Although, I was not reminded of a strawberry milkshake when I bit into the cookie, not a good tasting one at least. I did not really care for the taste of these new Oreo cookies. Our family did end up finishing the entire bag of Oreo's in a reasonable amount of time. So it was not a complete loss or waste of money.
I would not buy the new Limited Edition Strawberry Milkshake Creme Oreo cookies again. That is not to say that they were horrible, but just not anything special. I know they must have had tasters in their test kitchen say that they were great, but I would rather buy the regular Oreos than these. Or maybe if they were just plain strawberry flavored instead of the strawberry milkshake creme flavor. My food product review recommendation for the New Limited Edition Strawberry Milkshake Creme Oreos is to not buy them so you don't waste your money. But that is just my opinion.

Post a CommentI haven't tried the strawberry ones but our family did not like the new creamcicle ones.
Thanks for the honest review here!
Thank you for an honest review of Strawberry Milkshake Oreos!
Thanks for the warning. We probably would have tried them.
I bet they still work in milk. MILK? Yuck!
Hmm, I would have thought they'd be good, so now I'll avoid them :) Sheri
I've seen these and have steered clear of them. Something told me the combination wouldn't be that good. Thanks for the review. For the record, the mint Oreo's.....are FABULOUS!!! And great crushed in vanilla ice cream. (you know, in case the oreo just isn't enough) ;-)
