Product Review: Sulfur Therapeutic Mask by DDF

This mask is the one that I have been using for a little more than a month now and loving so much. I have always known that DDF has some great products and is very popular but I have never tried one personally. I guess I just wasn't drawn to it personally. But, whenever I ask one of the staffs a question about the pores and acne, they always recommend this. I think that is for a good reason and I would recommend this too if I were in their shoes.

The description found in sephora.com says: "This therapeutic, medicated mask uses the anti-inflammatory properties of sulfur, aloe vera, purified clay, and aromatic extracts. Helps to clear blemishes and treat oily skin, clogged pores, acne, and seborrhea."

I think this helps to clear blemishes pretty well. The staff at sephora told me that it will work well as a spot treatment during the night if I put some of it in the spots where I have acne and sleep with it on, but I have not had that work for me at all, so I can't say that it does. But, when I used it as a mask, it is fantastic. If I use it during the night, I wake up with some of my whiteheads gone and I have much better complexion. But, it works well with small zits or whiteheads but not so well with cysts. But, I mostly have whiteheads and since it works well to clear whiteheads, at least for me, I love it.

It also works well to clear blackheads. Before using this, I had very dark blackheads on my nose, but after using this a couple times, most of my blackheads were significantly lighter and it was not visible anymore. I think it does a terrific job at cleaning the clogged pores.

I think it worked to control by oil production as well. If you leave it on for too long, it might pull your face a little too much and it might seem really drying, but after using it, I feel so refreshed. And, it seems to draw out the oil as well.

What I also love about this is that it has a very thin consistency so that you can use very little at the time. Most of the drugstore brands' clay masks goes on very thick so I had to use a lot at the time, but this goes on really thin and applies very easily. For the smell, I wouldn't say that it's offensive, but there is a definitely distinct smell, which is very minty. So, it might cause a bit of a fresh, tingling sensation like Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask or Lush's Mask of Magnaminty.

The main ingredient is sulfur and aloe vera, and for me, it works very well. Sulfur is the main ingredient in Proactive Refining Mask and Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask, so if those two worked for you, which it did for me, it would work well for you as well.

I said that this would did not help me with the cystic acne so much, but it works very fast, after just one use, to get rid of those small zits or whiteheads, so I did not notice the other things so much. But, I think this might help with the cysts as well if used for a longer time period, but not after just one use.

But, the main concern would be cost. It is on the bit of an expensive side with $34 for a 4 oz jar, and I can see this lasting me about three months, if used 1-2 times a week. It is definitely more expensive than a lot of sulfur masks out there, but I would recommend this because the texture is unlike any other sulfur masks and I really like it.
