After I got home, I noticed there were a lot more bonuses to purchasing Super Pet Top Fill water bottle. The stainless steel spring loaded sipper tube stops leaks, easy to grip the handle, and during the warm weather, ice cubes could be added to keep the water cold. A real bonus when you want to treat your hamsters.
I quickly filled the bottle, and measured where exactly I wanted to place the Super Pet Top Fill water bottle in the cage. I took the bracket off the water bottle, and the nut off the screw and placed it tightly in the cage. The really sweet thing about Super Pet Top Fill water bottle is the nut had ridges on it, so it completely gripped the cage bars. This meant that when the hamster was in the wheel, and shaking the cage to death, that the water bottle would stay in place without leaking all over the place. I don't normally trust any water bottle that claims there is no leaking, as I have ran into several water bottles that claimed this, and didn't live up to their design. I was pleasantly surprised that Super Pet Top Fill water bottle does not leak!
I was able to easily fill the Super Pet's water bottle, and place it into its holder, when I discovered if you fill it too full it weighs too much, and can easily slip out of the brackets. I was disappointed, but that wasn't the only reason to be disappointed in this water bottle product. When I went to clean the hamster cage, I took the water bottle off the side of the cage, and set it on the floor. You have to be EXTREMELY careful setting Super Pet's Top Fill water bottle on its side because of the way it's made. If you don't set the water bottle just right, it tips, and pours out the top. This isn't a good water bottle for a kids hamster cage, unless an adult cleans the cage. It's frustrating that I seem to be so hard to please when I feel I'm asking so little. Because of the size of Super Pet's water bottle, it leaves your hamster cage about 4 inches from the wall, if that's the side that you need the bottle to fit. Some hamster cages due to size can only have the wheel in one spot, and the water bottle in another. This certain hamster's cage was one of these types. Keep in mind, this bottle can be placed inside of the cage though, providing your hamster's cage is large enough. You will just have to take it out to fill it up instead of using its pop top.
Therefore, if you want a water bottle that doesn't leak, this Super Pet's Top Fill water bottle is the one for you. Just remember to be careful when cleaning the cage, watch how you place the water bottle on the floor, or where ever you wish to place it when cleaning your pet's cage. Also, be sure your water bottle is secure in the brackets. If it's not it can come crashing to the floor soaking everything as it falls.
I rate this water bottle a 10 on not leaking, a 5 on design, and a 10 on long lasting.
