Product Review: Tidy Cats Crystals Cat Litter

Autumn Skies
Everyone who owns a cat knows that the only downside of keeping a feline friend is the chore of living with and cleaning the litter box. But it is not as bad as it used to be, thanks largely to Tidy Cats new Crystals formula. The crystals are nicer to look at, easier to scoop, track less and create less dust, and they eliminate odor. This is a product review of Tidy Cats Crystals Cat Litter.

Tidy Cats Crystals Cat Litter works like this: Micropores in the crystals evaporate moisture and trap odors. While the traditional cat litters create awful amounts of dust, the crystals create far less. And you do not find yourself sweeping around the litter box every five minutes, because the crystals also create less tracking. The crystals are non-toxic, so you don't have to rush your kitty to the hospital if you find her munching on a stray crystal she found on the floor.

Because there is far less odor with Tidy Cats Crystals Cat Litter, you can change the cat litter less often. One jug will last one cat one full month. If you own two cats, you should change the litter every ten to fifteen days. If you own three cats, you should change the litter every seven to ten days.

Tidy Cats Crystals Cat Litter is ideal for high-traffic areas in your house. It works best when it is placed away from areas of high humidity, such as bathrooms and showers. The crystals are now much softer than when they first came onto the market, and the cats prefer them this way. The silica gel crystals remain extremely effective in dehydrating moisture and trapping odor. And, of course, the blue and white crystals are much easier on the eyes than the traditional sand cat litters.

As with cat food, if you decide to switch litters, it is recommended that you do so gradually. You should start with a fifty-fifty mix and gradually add a greater percentage of the new litter each week. My cats took to the crystals right away, so that wasn't necessary.

Tidy Cats Crystals Cat Litter works similarly to the traditional formulas. Provide your cats with a clean, dry litter box large enough to accommodate your cats. Add one 3.5 pound jug of Tidy Cats Crystals Cat Litter, so that it is approximately one and a half inches deep in the litter box. Scoop out and discard the dehydrated solid waste on a daily basis. Stir the crystals with your scooper to speed evaporation. And clean the litter box with warm water and mild detergent between complete litter changes.
