Product Review: Twizzlers Rainbow Twists

This Zany New Treat Puts a New Twist on an Old Idea!

Heather B.
There is a new product out that puts a new twist (pardon the pun!) on an old idea. Twizzlers Rainbow Twists come in a variety of colors and flavors. They cost about the same as regular Twizzlers, but kids will enjoy having these for a change. I personally don't like them as much, but their flavors would probably be delicious to eight year-olds. Twizzlers Rainbow Twists are a great product for kids of all ages.

Price: They cost about the same as regular Twizzlers, and you get the same amount. I think they are worth a little less though, simply because they don't taste as good. (That's just my opinion, though! And what do I know? I'm a grown up!) You'll probably spend anywhere from $1.50-$2 on a regular size pack.

Presentation: They come in very cool colors that kids will enjoy: green, blue, orange, yellow, maroon, and pink. They are a great alternative to the regular old red Twizzlers Kids will definitely find this product fun and appealing. Twizzlers Rainbow Twists are very cool. They look just like regular Twizzlers except in different cool colors. They also seem a little more round. (Gee, I wonder if you could try using them to drink soda as you can do with Sour Punch Straws?)

Taste: The taste is incomparable to regular Twizzlers. They taste totally different. To me, the flavors are comparable to that of Trix cereal. That's the reason I don't like them. It's not that they taste bad, just that they taste strange to me--not like Twizzlers should. My son and his friends absolutely love them. Your kid will thoroughly enjoy the many new unique flavors of this old-time favorite of children everyone. I also notice a bit of a bland aftertaste that I can't quite describe. Their texture isn't like regular Twizzlers either. They are softer and easier to chew.

Flavors: Instead of the regular, boring, strawberry, licorice, and cherry-flavored Twizzlers, now your child can have a new favorite. You can chose from Strawberry, Orange, Lemonade, Watermelon, Blue Raspberry, or Grape. Mmm! Why not eat two or three together for an interesting flavor combination? Or chop them up into small pieces and make a Twizzler Rainbow Twists candy salad?

Drawback: They go stale quickly. I left them in my cabinet for only 2-3 days, and they were harder to chew when I pulled them out again. They were already going stale. I suggest you put them in a ziplock bag or reseal them in some other way after opening them. They will store for a long time if you do. But like most candies, they won't last forever! That's another drawback. Considering all the cool colors and neat flavors, kids will probably go through these quickly and want to share them with their friends. They'll probably end up asking for more, so you'll want to buy more than one pack! Just like regular Twizzlers, they are addictive! Mmm!

Positives: They come in very cool covers and great new flavors. Twizzlers Rainbow Twists have a unique taste that is unlike any other candy I've ever tried. Best of all, they are low in fat, so you even if you're on a diet, you can enjoy them guilt-free. Remember, though, they are candy--so don't pig out too much! It's still healthier to have a real salad, as delicious as that Twizzler Rainbow Twists candy salad may be!

This is a very neat idea. It's a new spin on an old favorite. Kids need a change every now and again, and they love trying new things. They will love the crazy colors and the unique flavors. They will also have fun trying different combinations of flavors together, much like you can do with Jelly Belly beans! They cost the same as regular Twizzlers, so you don't have to spend an arm and a leg. You can find them anywhere; I got mine at Wal-mart. And again, they are low-fat for guilt-free munching!
