Product Review: Ultra Ecos Magnolia & Lily Laundry Detergent
Earth Friendly Products Natural Laundry Soap
I usually have trouble finding a good natural laundry soap. My husband is allergic to the chemicals in the regular brands, so we went all-natural several years ago. Since then, I have tried many brands, but I had yet to find a brand that not only cleaned my clothes, but left them smelling fresh and lightly scented. Most natural laundry detergents will leave your clothes smelling clean, but unscented. They will not smell dirty, but neither will they smell "fresh as a summer breeze."
I settled on another brand, finally, because it was ultra-concentrated and had over 60 loads in a regular-sized 20-load bottle. We live in Hawaii and it is very expensive to mail and purchase heavy items here because of the cost of shipping, so the fact that there were three times as many loads in the same size bottle meant that it was not only better for the environment, it was better for my pocketbook.
Once this laundry soap ran out, however, I needed something new. Our one local natural food store was not expecting another shipment of my favorite brand for a few months. When you live on an island, things get quite difficult to obtain in a timely manner. Instead, I was forced to search the shelves for a temporary alternative.
I finally decided on Ultra Ecos Original Formula Magnolia and Lily Laundry Detergent made by Earth Friendly Products. I chose it because it was only a little more expensive than the other brands, but was ultra-concentrated like I wanted, so there were three times as many loads in the bottle. The Medium-sized bottle contains 64 loads worth of laundry soap and no unnatural chemicals. Because I was in a pinch, I did not bother to smell the soap. I needed something that would clean laundry and fast!
After filling the washing machine and adding a capful of the new natural laundry detergent, I was delighted to find that I only needed a small cupful of soap. I really love using products that are environmentally friendly. Ecos laundry detergent is not only all-natural and safe to use, but they do not test on animals and their packaging is 100% recyclable.
Once the laundry was clean and dried, I was delighted to discover that unlike all of the other brands of natural laundry detergent that I had tried, the Ecos laundry soap made our clothes smell incredible. They were lightly scented and smelled fresh and clean, much like the conventional detergent brands, but without the harsh chemical smell that irritates my nose. I love pulling clothes out of the dryer that have been washed in Ecos.
If you are looking for a great natural laundry detergent, I highly recommend using ultra-concentrated Ecos laundry soap. Earth Friendly Products makes several great alternative natural products (though I was thoroughly disappointed with their dish soap) and their laundry detergent is now my new all-time favorite.

You can buy it at Costco in Canada. I bought another one today, was on sale for $13 instead of $18.
